Double AA what kind of difference does your wind restrictor make?
My Porsche 911 convertible has a cloth wind restrictor with tiny holes in it and it works great.
Can you show more pictures of how it mounts?
it's the only one designed where you don't have to take it out every time you put the top up or down. Also can come with customizable logos/designs. You can also get it to where it will illuminate. As per the difference from clothe to solid piece we have, The solid piece reduces turbulance from the back flow while the mesh doesn't completely do this. You still get the wind for the reason you bought the convertible but you don't get the hassle from turbulance so you can hold a conversation or keep from turning the radio all the way just to hear a song.
Coming from a 500 SL with original MB wind deflector I feel a big difference to the C7 Convertible without that.
So I would prefer an original GM solution with a textile net which protects better than a plexi glass deflector.
Hope it will come soon!
while possibly the aftermarket isn't ready for the C7, prior gen had about 3 diff. kinds. one was as you described, and couldn't be left in place when top went up--had to be manually removed (and some said a PITA to do so). one could be left in place w. top up. and third was a lexan/acrylic see-thru that had options to light up or not with neon letters/logo, and could be left in place. a few who have bought them said it really wasn't needed--the windblocker of any sort.
They also add nothing in the looks department. Once you drive around a bit with your top down you will find out this wind deflector is not needed and a waste of money.
I do not
I personally prefer to drive side windows down when I am alone. But my wife does not like any wind in her hair, so I have to do something.
And the C7 convertible definitivly has air turbulences. My hope is that there will be soon a solution with an effecive wind protector.

Could put the top up, get a coupe, get different wife that isn't so "hair" oriented, get ear plugs and ignore noise from starboard side of car, tell her to just deal with it and enjoy your convertible!
