Edit: Please disregard since I didn't fully understand the issue.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

If you have the parking brake on (and no pedals depressed?), you only have to press and release the button to resume driving position. If I forget, and already have the parking brake released and my foot on the brake, I have to hold the button until it reaches position.

GM did this on purpose because they do not want the seat to move automatically during startup since you have to have your foot on the clutch with the M7. I think it sucks, but that's the reason.

If you have a std shift, you're the only one who has posted (including what GM Customer Service says) indicating, without the car being started, that one touch of the memory button works (with no foot on any peddle and emergency brake on.) The rest of us have to hold the button in even with the emergency energized.

Just to clarify, this is after I have started the car.

Maybe a software difference? I just took delivery a few weeks ago. VIN 12208

One touch button works after the car is started (as designed by GM). You have to hold it to move the seats before you start the car. The issue is that it should move automatically when you close the door like the auto trans cars or work with one touch. Some people cannot reach the clutch without moving the seats first, so they have to hold the button until the seat is in the programmed position before they can start the car.

OK, I misunderstood the issue. My apologies.

No need to apologize! Some of us have been trying to understand how to get our seats to operate like the C6 and what the somewhat fuzzy wording in the Owner’s manual says should happen! I’ve been trying since October and after a trip to the local Chevy Dealer last week to have the dif fluid checked (at GM’s request-it was fine as expected) I finally have given up, it is what it is! Why it is different than previous Vette’s (like my ’08 C6) has not been told to us, probably a programing error!
Glad you have your Vette, enjoy it and keep asking questions and telling us what you learn since we all learn from asking questions and responding!

Not a programming error. It's the way they designed it.

Got an answer back from Marissa at Chevy Customer Service to my question:

" "Is GM going to work on a fix?"

With this model year there will not be a "fix" or an update, as it is working as designed. There (sic) We can certainly take your feedback into consideration for future models.

Chevrolet Customer Care"

So it looks like those of us with M7 trans are stuck with the system as it is.

How crappy is this. They may well have designed it to work like that, but it is not designed correct. They need to fix it.

And they wonder why they do not receive high marks in customer satisfaction like other makers do. Sad thing the 07 impala I use to own had better working memory seats.

One touch memory just does not work. I have not been able to get it to work no matter what combinations I try. Started, not started , foot on clutch, in gear, in neutral, E brake always on.

Really sucky for a 70K car when 1 touch works in a 20K impala. Most expensive car I have bought, worst working seats.

I agree this should be a no-brainer. This was an option and its worthless. They are regressing. Next we'll have a foot pump on the window washer.

GM really needs to step up and make Memory press and release work at a bare minimum for the manual cars. They should make easy inter work too.
