Default Seat memory

I just took delivery Friday and have figured out most of the kinks between the manual and playing with it. I have searched other threads and read the manual over and over on the seats but I still can't get it right. I finally figured out how to have the seats go back when I exit and get in but they won't go up when I sit down unless I hold the 1 button. The process is different for autos and manuals and I have the manual. What am I missing? Appreciate your expertise in advance.

What the heck were you searching for? Unicorns? I typed in the exact title of this thread "seat memory" and got pages of hits. This is the most in depth discussion on the seat memory issue

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c7-g...ht=Seat+memory

Bottom line is it isn't ideal on the manual trans cars.

I didn't say, I couldn't find a thread. I said, I couldn't get it right. If the answer is GM didn't get it right, then that's the answer but my hope was that I am missing something.

Discussed to death in a tech/performance thread.. Quite idiosyncratic. Key piece of info: all memory motion stops if seat or back reaches rear extent of travel and will not continue until seat is moved slightly forward using the controls on side of seat. Don't allow seat to reach rear stops and you should be able to program positions. There are some other peculiar issues especially for the M6 cars that you will discover in the other thread.

Gotcha.. Unfortunately the memory seats are not ideal. Hopefully they can come with a software fix to make them function logically.

Work fine in a Manual car for the easy exit feature.

However for getting back to driving position, the auto does not work as it does that when you open the door.

For the most part you have to push and hold 1 once you get in.

You would think a entry level programer could fix this in about 5 minutes or less.

The logic needed to make it work, would be simple.

GM dropped the ball on this for manual cars for sure. Sure hope they give us a fix.

My memory seat suffers from Alzheimer's disease. It seems to periodically forget my setting. This is frustrating because it takes me forever to get the ideal driving position.

Had mine since early October. Lots of comments on the Forum about how it works with a std shift. The manual and many Forum comments are confusing! Bottom line, it apparently only works with a one button touch IF the car is already started. In my case to start, I need the seat forward to fully push-in the clutch! Therefore it is a "Catch 22" can't start without the seat forward and can't get the seat forward with a touch of the button unless the car is started! I finally decided there is nothing that can be done, after visiting the dealer for a dif fluid check last week! Hopefully GM will fix the software so it works like my '08 std shift and apparently how it works with an automatic trans.
One approach to save some time is to push and hold the recall button with one finger while you’re pulling on the seat belt to connect it with your other hand (awkward but that is what works for me.)

Txa99ie,

This was posted by Customer Service. Everyone should contact them, maybe we'll get a fix.

Thanks for the insight fellas. I will send customer service a note as well. I agree that an entry level programmer should be able to fix this.

You assume they have entry level programmers

IN the mean time you can turn it off in the settings screen.

My seat problem was solved when I changed fobs. They were(are) numbered backwards. ie fob 2 works seat position 1, 1 works 2. Try the other fob.

Curious if you have an automatic? Since several of us with standard shifts have found our keys do not have numbers. Where others have said their numbers are, and some showed pictures, I have what looks like an l or perhahs a 1 but it is a straight line. Both are the same. Our keys also don't have remote start.

Not corvette related but had issues with 2014 SS ended up redoing the programing and no longer need to hold the button down but car must be on not running one button touch now.

Not an option with the manual transmission.

Got an answer back from Marissa at Chevy Customer Service to my question:

" "Is GM going to work on a fix?"

With this model year there will not be a "fix" or an update, as it is working as designed. There (sic) We can certainly take your feedback into consideration for future models.

Marissa
Chevrolet Customer Care"

So it looks like those of us with M7 trans are stuck with the system as it is.
