Default No Folder View

Took my car in to have them check the rear rim that was blistered and the Dim Dash update along with the missing folder view with USB. I have the Bose Stereo and GM tech told me unless I have the Nav I don't get it. That's Bull. My Volt has it and wife's Buick has it and neither one comes close to the price of the Corvette. My Neighbors cheap Cruize has it. GM screwed up and now they don't want to step up to the plate.

Navigation is standard with the 3 LT and available as an upgrade on the 1LT & 2LT for $795 I think. I am not for sure on this, I think I read it somewhere.

I think you read wrong. As far as I am aware, nothing as of yet has been made official as far as a Nav update for those without it. The only thing I have seen with regards to adding Nav after the fact is speculation.

Op,
I wish I could help with your concern. Unfortunately I use my iPhone for my music and not a flash disk. Also, I have the Nav option so even if I tested it to verify that it works, since I have Nav it would prove nothing. Still I can't help but wonder if your flash drive format has something to do with your issue.

Point is they include it on a 20K Chevy but not a 70k Chevy. What's wrong with this picture ?

I have Nav and all the updates - and folder view is still missing from mine. I wish they would fix that

Kelly from cust srvc maybe you could help us get it fixed to work just like pg 23 in the infotainment manual says folder view should work? That's all we're asking for.

Oh... and my service rear axle message still comes on every 4 days despite taking to the dealer 3 times to fix.. Annoying!!

I knew I saw it somewhere. If you go to the Corvette owners' official website on the GM site there are instructional videos available that explain all the systems, etc. on the C7. There is one on the navigation system that is a 58 second video. It states the navigation system is standard on the 3LT series and can be added to the 1LT and 2LT series. This does not list the price of the add on. Check with your dealer on the cost. I still remember from something that it was $795 somewhere in my etravels, but that is really not the issue. GM's official site states that it is available.

It's available if you order it but not as a aftermarket add on. This still has nothing to do with my original post which is why does ALL other GM radio's that have a USB port no matter the price of the car have a FOLDER option and the Corvette DONT even though it's in the book. They screwed up and now don't want to make it right.

OK, I think I finally have this figured out from my end. I don't use the folder view on my system. In your OP you referenced that your dealer advised you that you had to have the navigation system to get it. I saw in one of the training videos that you could add the navigation system in the 1LT and 2LT options. It did not say that you had to do it at the time of purchase. I saw the $795 price on the page as an add on the Silverado system.
http://www.technologytell.com/in-car...let-silverado/
And, I made some incorrect assumptions and we all know about assumptions! I assumed that you could add the navigation system as an aftermarket and you would have the folder view as a part of that option, and that it was $795. Too many options, too many systems, and too many vehicles. Someone will probably figure out how to do all this at some point and post it on You Tube.

The Nav on the 1 or 2LT IS A $795 option but having it on last two GM vehicles one being wife's current Buick I'm not impressed with it. My Garmin that cost $175 comes with lifetime map updates numerous times a year and also lifetime traffic coverage.

We have the Nuvii and have had it for a number of years. It really is great, we use it in walking or biking mode when we travel and are touring on foot or by bicycle. I don't like it cluttering the view out the windscreen in the Corvette as I already have the Passport radar detector on the windscreen. I do like the navigation system better now after we have worked with it and understand its rather unnecessarily complex entry requirements. However, since we are traveling together most of the time it is not an issue as one of us drives and the other one works with the navigation system. If all else fails we just call onstar and tell them what we want and the route magically appears on the screen. We have GPS systems in the plane that have weather, terrain, approaches, etc. that are more simple to use than the GM system.

You are correct. I have the 2LT and ordered the Nav as an option for $795.

It's more than just NAV. You have weather and weather alerts and traffic available too. If you don't have it and use OnStar to program a trip you don't get a full map like the Nav system gives you, just directions in your HUD or DIC. It's a feature that will be on the vast majority therefor could hurt resale without it. Not getting it would be like buying a new washer w/o a combo dryer. Some want to use their phones, but they're not integrated and much more difficult and a smaller screen.

I disagree on that. I just went to the NADA price guide and a 13 convert 3LT was $300 more than a 2LT. This is trade in price on a vehicle that had 10,000 miles. Now I have to wonder why the 5k more the 3lt listed for than relates to now being worth only 300 bucks on trade. So the $795 you paid is worth 0 when you trade it. I have bought over 30 new cars and most options on trade are worth nothing. Only options that pY off are auto tranny and air. Oh and the weather and traffic you have costs you $$ from onstar if you choose to keep it after the free time. My traffic is free on my Garmin for ever and my iphone can give me weather alerts for free since I already pay for phone service.

I understand you're reading a NADA report and that's what's guiding you. Go with it if you like, not my car. I'm quite happy with my 2LT + Nav and will buy OnStar on the three year plan. Over the life of ownership, the $795 is a very small number to have all the options included with it. If I could have purchased my radar detector as an 'integrated' feature even at a higher price I'd have done it w/o additional thought. I don't like stuff on the w/s (like a Garmin) with cords. But I determined the detector to be a necessary feature.

I used my USB for MP3s once. I didn't like that there wasn't a folder view and just stopped using it. It was annoying trying to play just one folder or find any specific songs. The entire process is a mess for USB.

I'm sticking with Pandora and Spotify at the moment. Spotify is what I use the most as it's the easiest to deal with.

So it sounds like the MP3 software is no better than it was on the C6.

Yep. All you hear from GM is we want world class products. They will never make it when the little simple things keep dragging them down. Said thing is it's not even the expensive things. They have this feature on their other cars some a 1/3 of the cost of the Vette. And they don't care either.

If folder view is not working, are the other browse modes working, such as Genre, Artist, Album, etc.
