I find it very unusual that you need to type in the entire address of your destination in order for the map to bring up the route. Every other Nav that I had would pre-fill the street name as you type it. For example, when I type in my street address I need to spell out Oakington St. It does not bring up street names as I enter each letter. I hope I am explaining myself ok. When I spoke with the Infotainment folks at GM they told me that is how it is programmed to work. All previous destinations will work with the pre-fill. Once I entered Oakington, now as soon as I enter Oa it brings up Oakington. I told the GM folks that it really wasn't useful on previous destinations as you can simply add those to previous destinations in your contacts.

I noticed this too. My Lexus works much better on many levels, including this.

It's a bit disappointing. I'm hoping they do a software update at some point. The GPS is good but not great.

One other thing I do not like is the distances are not accurate. The distance will be 1 mile but in fact it's much longer than 1 mile. It's confusing when there are two streets near one another and it says turn right or turn left. You can't tell which street to use because it's not accurate enough to tell you when to turn.

The icons for places are too small to see and read.

One time it said "go straight and then go straight". Weird.

I haven't received my car yet but I know I have been spoiled by my Garmin and it's user interface. I expect I will see things that seem strange, or less convenient to me.

I have found the voice recognition option for inputing destinations works very well. clear and precise prompts and hands free operation.

I have struggled thru over 6 yrs of ownership of the C6 NAV system. I virtually stopped using it while enjoying units in my other cars (Infiniti, Mercedes). Since I am now finalizing the specs for my C7 order, the first few comments on this thread have helped me decide whether or not to order the NAV...

Personally I like having to spell it out because in my C6 the auto complete would ALWAYS come up with some other da--- street and not let me enter what I wanted to enter so I used onstar and avoided the nav interface completely.

Glad I left it off my 2LT Z51 order, doesn't sound like it's worth it, plus I never use it in ANY other car I've owned.

Good point. I would have thought it was improved a lot since the C6.

Good point. I would have thought it was improved a lot since the C6. It looks like they need some software improvements.
