Sillplates

Whats the deal on sillplates ? I have seen a base car with "Stingray" sillplates and a Z51 with "Corvette". I have also seen a Z51 with "Stingray". If the factory messing up ? Does the base car and Z51 get different ones or whatever they have on hand ?

They all come standard with the Corvette sill plates. The Stingray sill plates are an option that can be ordered. You can also get them from parts to put on yourself.

It's very interesting (and somewhat telling) that this is a possible reason you think there are two different sill plates. It's the "factory messing up" and using "whatever".

If you don't think this can happen you are living in fantasy land. The factory has shipped a car without FAY if you recall. Mistakes can and do happen all the time.
