So I have been thinking for awhile about buying one. Anyone that has one can you really dry the whole car with it without leaving water spots or do you still need to towel dry?
I've had one for several years and recommend it highly. I don't have a problem with water spotting but I also use deionized water for the car's final rinse; the lack of spots is likely a result of using both. The Master Blaster does a great job, for sure. Think of it as a jet engine with a hose!
I will get action on this but IMO!
GIMMICK! Trying to get people on the bus!
When you can buy an "Absorber" anywhere for ten dollars!
Absorber plus fine microfiber towel!
The final towel dry process is part of the wash process! Automobile paint has
clear coat. The clear should be sealed with many coats of sealant or at least a good coat of wax.
Blow dry and you leave stuff dried from an small place you missed (that you will find on your paint and areas around mirror's and window will not be as clean. I clean wipe areas not touched by the wash mitten. Blow dry cleans nothing plus you still be drying with a towel!
Your towel tells you how good your wash job is/was !
I add a fresh coat of glass every two or three washes. That can be done without the car fully dry!
Used mine three times today, once to dry the wife's car and twice to blow sawdust off my power miter saw…. someone here posted on mounting in the garage and connecting longer hose, that's what I do, it never moves.
Everything works to one degree or another and yes, some things are gimmicks. I've been drying with the California squeegee (silicon blade) and towels for years. A month ago I was reading some posts here and looked into the Master Blaster. I found a good deal on one and gave it a shot (I could always return it). No gimmick, and I won't be returning it. After a couple of uses I started getting the hang of it and more efficient. No spots, and it does clean the moisture out of all the cracks & crevices, mirrors, and the like. Best way for me is to wash the car itself rapidly in the shade, rinse and immediately dry with the blaster. Then I wash the black wheels with a mitten and kitchen scrub/sponge device on handle for the barrels. Then rinse & dry w/blaster. Whole car washed & dry in 30 min or less (and yes, a good job). After watching, I think my neighbor is going to spring for one. I'll probably invest in a hanger and longer hose extension like someone else has done (have to check total length of hose 1st). I expect several years of use from it.

Mine works best with the MB nozzle in one hand and a waffle drying cloth in the other. The MB will get nearly all the water off, but a gentle swipe of the cloth leaves it nicely dry. Also, the MB WILL NOT leave any water around the mirrors or windows. It can make a hellacious racket when drying off the wheels

Take a look on the MetroVac web site under pet grooming. See the Air Force Blaster B3. Lightweight, affordable, very powerful and it's ONLY a dryer and not a vac and I like that feature. You won't be disapointed.

I bought my Master Blaster about five yrs ago, mainly for drying off my motorcycles. I bought the twin 4HP model. If 4 HP is good, 8HP must be twice as good, right? I use it on my cars, like mentioned by others here, mainly for the wheels and nooks/crannies. I do my main drying with the blade and a waffle micro fiber towel. I might add that for two years I just used my micro fiber wash mit on my black Mini Cooper wheels and always dried them using the MB. Waxed them every month or so and never had any swirls in the clearcoat. I plan on using the same procedure on the C-7's black wheels.
Some good information here, I am going to buy one. I used to use my air compressor and micro fibre towels, it did a really good job. Never left an oily film on the car as some have suggested. However the compressor died so I think for at least this job of drying the car I will order a Master Blaster.
I have been detailing my personal vehicles for thirty years and hate drying with microfiber towels. Purchased a master blaster a year ago and could not be happier. Expensive but worth every penny. Great product.

I originally went the electric leaf blower route. It worked well... but left some streaks. Then I purchased the MasterBl;aster (the larger model) and it is fantastic.
Anyone claiming "gimmick" has never owned one (the larger model) themselves.
hopefully I can get one of the vendors to donate another for a St Jude auction this year as they are always a hot item....those who have them love them

From what I have read, the people that have a Master Blaster like it - that seems to be a pretty good endorsement.
Like some of the others, I use an Absorber to dry my cars. It does not get all the water out of the mirrors, nooks and crannies simply because I cannot reach all those places. I have been thinking about a product like the Master Blaster, just haven't made the purchase yet.
I bought one the day I got my Black C7 and I'm not too keen on it. I've only used it a few times but I find it takes much longer to dry the car with the Master Blaster than with a few high quality absorbent MF towels. Using the MB I just seem to blow the water from one panel to the next and it is extremely loud. It is great at getting the water out of the mirrors and cracks and wheels but it's basically a hassle to use.
I can dry the whole car in 3 minutes with MF towels but takes over 30 minutes with the MB. Maybe I don't have an efficient process established yet but it just takes too long for me to use. The hose is not very flexible and it blows my circuit breakers with both switches on. It is a very high quality made product though.

yeah I need new MF towels as mine apparently have something in them that created small scratches in my clear coat on my black Z06 so I have considered a MB....now I gotta get the scratches removed....they are not bad but they **** me off...
When drying I first pool the water with the hose just dribbling, then spray the entire car with Adam's Detail Spray, and then use a Master Blaster in combination with a quality micro fiber towel. I've been using this method for over five years and it works great. Nothing beats the Master Blaster for body seams or around the doors, hood, and hatch.

actually , I don't doubt that one bit. But, I'm not liking wiping-down a car after I just went through the effort of hand washing it; and the MasterBlaster does get the job done; in it's own relm.
But it is not a gimmick It's a real piece of machinery, that works well.
Saying the MB is a gimmick - is like saying a snow thrower is a gimmick; and that a shovel is the only real way to remove snow.
