Default New status code

I have a status code of 4D00-vehicle on hold. I haven't heard of this one. I thought that maybe it's because of the stinger stripe I've ordered.
Any ideas?
It is not the 4B00 - Bayed.

Mine was on this code for 2 days after being built, a Friday and Saturday and then it shipped. I was told it was a quick QA verification after it came off the line.

Thanks so much for your help. I got a little excited when Chevy's Tracking Site said that it had shipped. I know that this is not a very reliable tracking method. Then I received a reply from Customer Service with the unusual 4D00 code. With your help, I am now calmly waiting again. Sort of...

Good luck staying calm.

The really good news is that you are close! Without looking at my notes I believe I got my car within about 10 days, and mine came to California on a train which is the slowest method.

It was well worth the wait, both my wife and I can immediately tell the increase in quality over my 2011 Grand Sport.

I was at 4D00 for 2 days, then 4B00 for 2 days before shipping. You're getting closer!

Thanks. If it is quality control - that's a good thing

4D00 is "On Hold At Plant" and usually pertains to a QC issue. Mine was at that status for 2 days and then went to 4800. It's been at 4B00 (Bayed) in Toledo for over a week waiting for a rail car to bring it west. My dealer says to expect another 2-3 weeks because of weather in the midwest is creating problems with getting the rail cars back to Toledo.

I checked today and I've gone from 4D00 to 4B00. So I'm assuming that they gave it a look over and put a few miles on it and now it's ready to be shipped.
I know that this is extremely picky, but I wonder if they wash it before putting a cover on for the truck ride north. Hate the thought of surface grime being rubbed into the paint by the cover. I'm also worried about the snow storm.
What do you think?

They do. All shipped C7s get a white shrink wrap applied before they're shipped

Yes, I know about the cover. I was more interested in their WASHING the car BEFORE they cover it.

Well.. my car had scratches all over it when PDI got their hands on it so my gut reaction is no they don't.

I found my answer in "Corvette Stingray" by Larry Edsall.
The car is driven off the line for additional inspections, including a trip through the DVT (dynamic vehicle test), a close look at painted surfaces, wheel alignment, and a trip through the hurricane- like water test booth. The car then goes outside, to the dynamic squeak and rattle test track.
Next, it's back inside to the factory car wash and then yet another and final inspection of the exterior and interior.

Anyway VIN 17789 is on it's way

Same here. I asked for no paint correction or even a wash by the dealer so I got to see the complete damage the cover puts on the car while it's sitting at the train yards and on the train. Lots of swirls when the cover was removed.
