Dang, almost makes sense. Many threads about the orange peal and poor paint work. So there are issues with it. Also many threads about Xpel or other paint protectors on it. Does have to make one wonder.
It is suppose to be the bargain of the year for a sports car.
That said, I paid to have my paint properly preped and the few spots of orange peel taken care of. Then had Xpel ultimate put on the Front, rockers and mirrors for stone chip protection.
Had Optic coat pro done on the car to protect the rest of the paint.
Still have to laugh, there is a valid point in thedofuss post.
Dave, a word to the wise.....you dont want to go there!
I don't often reply to some of the remarks made on this forum. Thedofuss has his following, there are those that either like or find humor in his posts and those that almost hate his posts. I look at what he wrote, and while I wouldn't have said it the way he did, let's be honest. Almost everyone that is in to detailing their cars, complain about orange peel. I will admit that he might have spoken a little unintelligent by assuming that those that use Xpel are putting it over cars that have not been detailed (removed as much imperfections as possible) BUT it is possible that some are doing that. I don't agree that the Stingray has the second worst paint in the world....but of course I lived in Europe for 20 years and saw plenty of bad paint jobs.....think eastern bloc countries.
I also have to say that I would never put Xpel over an entire car, but for me the reason is simple; It's a car! Hmm now if I cover my house with it, that might be a different story.
I don't want anyone to get high blood pressure because I sort of agree with Thedofuss on this particular point. Every single post made by all of us will have somebody that disagrees.
With that having been said, it's your car and do what makes you feel good.
I had the car delivered with it installed Xpel Ultimate full wrap..cost me 2k. Locally, it was like $1,600 but I couldn't see sitting around for 5-6 hours while they installed it so I paid for convenience.
