Wanted to get peoples opinion on getting the stinger stripe on an Artic White Vette. Looking at the stinger sripe from VetteFX. My question is over time does the Stipe get faded and damaged? also can it be removed?
I also think the stinger looks good on lighter colors. The dual stripe is OK but a bit too much for my taste. I always think Viper or Mustang when I see the dual stripe.
I had picked the stinger stripe but then changed it to the dual stripes once I realized they were now available.
Later on I saw VetteFX's stinger /w Jake stripe, and in hindsight if I knew that was coming I wouldn't have ordered any factor stripe option and instead gotten the stinger /w Jake cut-out from VetteFX.

I think stingers look great on AW. Get one from vettefx - durable vinyl that can be removed with no hard to the paint or finish if you ever decide you don't want it anymore or if you want to replace it at some point.
Got mine from VetteFX as well - very happy with it. I have a similar vinyl overlay on the hood of a 2009 H3 - 5 years later it still looks great. These materials will last a long time. The Carbon Flash paint is a good approach as well - I didn't have a shop that I trusted to do the paint work.
I could be wrong but I heard somewhere that the factory installed stinger stripe was clear coated after it was installed. If that's so, it can't "easily" be removed without repainting the hood.
I had the stinger put on our AW convertible while the car was being built (at $495 a pop) and on white, it looks fine by me. Is this same factory stinger stripe already available for ordering through a chevy or gm dealer? IF so, then I want to also apply the carbon black stinger stripe to our TR C7 too if it doesn't have to be clear coated on after installation.

The GM stinger stripe is a painted and clear coated vinyl. It is made that way and is not clear coated after it is installed. That being the case, it's a little thicker than most standard vinyl strips you get from aftermarket vendors.
