Like what you did, it's pleasing to the eye - the lights and exhaust tips. But not enough to spend $ to buy 'em.

OP,

I like your light design, and the exhaust tips.

Good luck.

round lights on an angular rear end is not only wrong but downright stupid, I like them just the way they are and have since I first peeped them, I do however don't mind the ones on your cover either.

Precisely. Round is unequivocally wrong as well as unsuitable to the C7’s form vocabulary, as round doesn’t speak in unison with the design. Aesthetically there is no place for round, not even down below at the pipe level.

From a manufacturing/design point it is an arduous task to promote change w/o some resistance, but expected. Take for example those then once against the C7’s change in appearance now bearing a comparable disposition against any miniscule change to it's design growth. Fortunately evolution doesn’t work along such thoughts, it constantly moves leaving the past for historical account.

Its the complexity of the car that makes the original design appealing to me in my mind. The lines of the car suggest tension, strength, potential energy.

The lines and facets created by the shapes of the tail lights adds to the feeling of anxiety of the piece. Every ridge draws the eye into a different crease creating a rise and fall visually. In my opinion, removing that complexity detracts from the excitement of the organic-mechanical relationship like buying a faceted gemstone then trying to polish it into a sphere.
It’s understandable as taste/opinion is subjective on many levels, too much for one may be just right for another, and seldom unanimously accepting of a design. Imparting change thru a design while maintaining a semblance of character such as the Corvette’s is a high-wire act when legend and emotion are of such intensity. Voiced opinions for round lights were and still are evident, and will continue as human nature is driven by preferences.

It must be noted that the proposed taillight design excises what’s considered a superfluous detail without rubbing out any body edginess to the smoothness of a C6 appearance. The objective is to extend the lenses’ span that visually contributes to the feel of a wider stance.

It takes time for some to acclimate to new and ongoing ideas without insisting old attributes. And, just as some refuse to accept the appearance of the C7 there are others vehemently against any proposed change toward its evolution. The audience certainly proves to be temperamental indeed.

Thanks. It may not be a condition of spending any $ to buy them, unless you have an earlier model.

Thank you. It’s somewhat interesting to note the resistance by some to this microscopic sense of change. All the proposed taillight design entails is a simple combination of two parts into one thereby retaining its character and luminous signature. Incidentally, don’t be surprised if/when they’re later introduced on select models much as the widebody was during the C6 generation.

Yes they would, and do, appear odd as a white C7 is pictured in a thread somewhere on the forum demonstrating that very point, and yes change is difficult for numerous reasons.

In the final analysis, "If it doesn't fit, you must acquit." Couldn't restrain from making that quote.

That taillight redesign is the first one I've seen that looks better than the factory job.

That said, I still think the factory job looks great and wouldn't pay extra to change it to this. It GM does decide to update the rear taillights to this in the future (ala' 2013 Camaro changes) only then would I consider it buying a later model than included this taillight design for the same price.

But to answer your question. No. And No.

It doesn't seem like it.

Your writing style is tiresome and it seems the only reason for it is to attempt to impress others. jmo

Moderators: IF you see the thread proceeding to attract opinions (see #52) that are less to the questions and topic, then no purpose for it to continue …so just close it. -tia

Tough crowd ... I do think this simplified taillight design, while not as evocative of historical Corvettes, is a very appealing custom alternative

No, I would not consider changing the tail lights, the grille or anything else. I love my new C7 just the way it is.

OP, I really like your lights and exhaust tips, but if I had a C7 now, I would not trade to get them. If they are a natural evolution in a year or two, that would be fine by me.

I've been checking back to the OP and I must admit that the one piece Taillight idea is growing on me. Still not a big fan of the Exhaust Pipes.

Time will tell...

Yes & yes; I would buy them, if less than $1000, to customize, and personalize my car from the rest of the mob.
