Sorry to hear that-long as no body was hurt just chalk it up to part of life's long ride (pun intended)
Kind of surprised you wanted the grill blacked out, as from prior posts you had indicated that you wanted the silver wheels instead of the black wheels you have. Have you given up on the silver wheels as I would think they go hand in hand with the grill.
CD, good pick up--as i would expect. this is something ive been wrestling with. with the painted silver wheels, or their equivalent, the chrome grille may actually look fine. my problem with the stock grille with my black wheels, is that the grille just sticks out there, not complementary to the rest of the car. and now, with probably another 10k into the car from the accident (ill pay for it myself, rather than create the ill will with my insurer, which i dont need at this point), i may just stay with the black wheels for now, and see what my repair guy says--it should be a freebee, since i have the tape. the 10k is about what the top of line hre's im looking at cost, making this "a great car, but for more money". my inattention just cost me 10k--kinda upset with myself for now, particuarly since i just finished my income tax.
having said that, if had to do over, would definitely not go with the black wheels for this color. i like the cg a lot, but it needs silver-type wheels (not a chrome fan). hope all's well.
Glad you're ok George. Did the airbag deploy?
And do ignore the "a$$trolls."
no air bags, no nothing really. just rear-ended this lady (less than 88), at a crawl. was a bit concerned at the amount of damage for the small hit it took. in the good old days with the 500 pound bumpers, you couldnt even tell. actually, looking at the construction material much closer now, im wondering how it would hold up in a "real" crash. at least i have a 6.2 (aka small block) between me and my POE (point of encounter).
