I am looking at buying a C7 ZO6 . My understanding is that the ground clearance is 1" less than the Stingray. I presently have a 2008 C6 and the front dam drags already when I go in and out of my driveway. If I buy a ZO6 I will likely not be able to get it into my driveway. My question is: "Does anyone know of a company that makes a piece of rubber that fits into a curb to enable easy entry in and out of a driveway. I have seen them before but I don't know where they are available. Thanks. John Comer
Was at the NYIAS and measured the Z06 ground clearance.
Regular stingray = 6.5 inches
Z06 = 4.5 inches
Subtract 2" for air dam
I live in a community with strict rules and the products discussed thus far are not permitted. I will be picking up a new Stingray today, and the the dealer told me the approach angle situation on the C7 is much more forgiving than on my old C6's. Because of my wife's back problems I will be getting a base 2016 Stingray, so it's a little better situation than with a Z06. Regarding these "trough" type curbs has anyone had any luck approaching the driveway at an angle, so the front wheels do not hit the curb at the same time? Thank you

Just buy a board. A 2x10. My neighbor does that and when he comes and goes just puts it in the garage. Its a hassle, but it is cheap and does the job. You might only need a 2x8. Buy an 8ft length. The angle approach can be a little tricky over a trough.

Lack of front clearance helped me make the decision going for Z51 instead of Z06. I forget the exact numbers, but someone posted some limits on the degree of approach angle. And my driveway would have required removing the front splitter if I went Z06.
First off, to the poster who said the Z does not have a rubber air dam up under the front end that is wrong. Even base Zs have a lower front splitter that you can see plus the hanging down rubber air dams which most of us scrape. Yes they are cheap and easily replaceable. On all my corvettes I never replaced them, I did file down the rough edges for the heck of it with a file....... but no one sees it. I did changing oil and would file it smooth.
Next on all the pictures posted in the thread..... my Z is lowered and I guarantee if I backed in at a 45 degree angle, slowly the scrapping if it even occured would be minimal. These picture do not show any driveways with that sever of an issues unless you insist on coming in head on. My friend had a C5 and insisted he could not buy a C7 because the C5 scrapes and the C7 would scrap more. I angled into his drive with mine, a sever angle.... ran over his grass a little and did not scrape at all. He now has a new C7 and has learned how not to scrap his C5.
Last don't lower your car or if you suspect it has been lowered have your dealer adjust it up to the highest settings.

The air dam on your '08 is a wear item, which is even addressed in the Owner's Manual. It hurts absolutely nothing when it drags. I've never understood why so many C6 owners are obsessed with trying all manner of things to stop it from ever touching the ground.
For reference the air dam on my '08 always drug, pretty badly, going into and out of my driveway. The air dam on my new C7 doesn't touch going either way, so even if the C7 Z06 is an inch lower it's not a problem.
Until you get that new C7, quit worrying about the air dam dragging on your C6 as it's hurting nothing, and it's very cheap and easy to replace if needed.
I agree 100%! My C6 Z51 did the same almost every time I pulled out of the driveway! My C7 Z51 seldom does. Even added a splitter but it is higher than my side air dams!
As you state I don't understand the concern about the rubber air dam scraping. I just used sand paper a few times on my C6 that I had for 6 years! Took only a few minutes to clean up the bottom edge.
It's a good warning that the next thing to hit will be the aluminum skid pads. Scraped the C6 skid pads a few times when I went into a mall entrance faster than desired! That noise is bad!
just get the stall mat at Tractor Supply...$35...4' x 6' x 1" mat...cut into three 6' x 16" foot sections and lay them across your approach....here's mine...works like a charm.....ignore the weeds ..... one of the benefits of a $13k paver driveway
bring a friend when you buy one...it weighs over 100 lbs and is a pistol to move around and load into a vehicle...get store help too! oh, you will need a good saw to cut it up.
I know this is a dead post, but this is exactly what I was looking for... i just didn't know what it would be called or where to buy it.
What kind of saw did you use?
I'm trying to understand why anyone would spend $300 or more to prevent wear to a $100 part that's meant to scrape and wear out. That makes no sense.
Because on my ZR1 my side skirts drag on the top of the curb without the Bridget. Now that I have added side skirts to my C7 I would have had the same problem. It also makes it nicer pulling into the drive with our passenger cars because it eliminates much of the rocking.
Or you could buy two bags of concrete for about $10 and fix the problem like most men would. Heck you could spend 50 cents more and add two pieces of 1.1/2" PVC and the water will even flow through.
