So we all have the gorgeous 8" screen, but can the NAV be added after the car has been delivered? I apologize if this has come up but did not find it on any forum searches?

Get an iPad mini and a Bluetooth GPS along with any one of several mapping programs from the App Store. It's better than the GM one and you can move it from car to car. The mini ipad fits perfectly in the area directly in front of the gear shifter. You can do this for about half cost of the factory gps unit
Sure...Garmin for < $100. Why pay more for a lessor system..
Thanks modshack. This is an option, but I'm not a fan of the floating screen in this beautiful interior. No huge regrets though, just curious. I looked high and low and when I found my Stingray only an hour away, NAV was the only option missing, which didn't slow down my decision.
The factory unit is integrated into the various system presentations and your Garmin isn't. I certainly am no authority on the C7 navigation option (made the first trip with it just a few hours ago), from what I have seen, works really well. I have not customized the various functions to my liking, yet. With three displays giving directions, (DIC, HUD, and the primary navigation unit) plus a voice prompt, you are well informed. What is really great, the displays/directions are very profound, not a safety issue.
The Nav works with the HUD you don't have to take your eyes off the road.
Plus the voice commands, traffic and other vehicle integration.
I did quite a bit of researsh on adding NAV, people are doing it on '14 trucks and impalas with the mylink. You need a NAV antenna (no big deal) and a programmed human interface module (-900.00) to make it work. Since onstar has NAV directions and XM weather/traffic is also involved you have to convince then that your car came NAV before everything works 100% like factory - no free map updates either. Thats for trucks and impala and no one is sure yet if can be done with the Vette but its the same basic system.
In other words, it wont be a simple software update like the new Chrysler/Fords to add it, that may change on the 2015s. There may be some aftermarket solutions down the road but who knows.

I rarely use it and only for trips so having it mounted occasionally doesn't bother me..
The right size Garmin would probably fit behind the screen in the "secret compartment". I have factory Nav, but have thought about how easy it would be to mount a Garmin behind the screen. USB port would provide power. Should be easy!
Anyone?
Ed
ps. I've had Garmin since they came out many years ago. My first in-dash was in my (just traded in for my C7) 2011 Charger. It was a great implementation and integrated simply into the Mopar infotainment system. GM could learn a thing or two if they took a Charger out for a test drive!

I've had my C7 for four months and I've used the NAV exactly one time. I know, some people can't live without it, but I grew up having Cars with cranks for the Windows, if they had any Windows.
I wouldn't have ordered it, but it was on the Dealer stock Car I purchased. Might be time for a road trip so I get my moneys worth.
In the age of Smart Phones and Garmin, it's impossible to get lost, unless there is a massive EMP Attack of course.

.
It depends how you use the car. I drove it cross country and I think it was really helpful -- and interesting.

You guys really don't get it do you? I guess "Rarely" and "Occasionally" don't compute with the style police here. Certainly not enough for an $800 Nav system that doesn't exactly get rave reviews.
3-4 times a year did not justify that expense for me...or the expensive map updates that you guys will be sucked into paying down the road....Enjoy your "Factory" systems....
