Why include it with the 3lt which is essentially a luxury upgrade should be a stand alone option for z51 cars

I think because, as some people mentioned in other threads, the 3LT doesn't seem that good of a deal - esp with the black interior (not much of a noticeable upgrade). Probably also figured that the people willing to pony up that much for the 3LT won't mind the extra $1,200.

That is not true. Asked that specific question of one of the GM engineers as the bash, he said it would not be able to be installed in a 2014, the complete wiring harness is different as are various sensors throughout the car. Could it be done, yes, but you would need to dismantle a very large part of your car. By no means an easy task
