Well, I've had my new C7 for just over a month now and I love it! In my humble opinion this is the best Corvette yet. If I would complain about anything it's that there is a bit of a blind spot when backing up due to the rear quarter window/hatch layout. Power and handling are just palin outstanding. My previous Vettes were a 94 coupe and a 2002 convertible. Comparing this car to either of the others would be like comparing apples to oranges. The 2002 was much closer than the 94 but the power difference (350hp versus 460hp) and standard equipment included in the C7 makes a whale of a difference. For the difference in price between a 1LT and a 2LT or 3LT, the initial savings are worth what you don't get. The only thing I miss from the C5 is the HUD. C7 1LT doesn't have it but 2LT and 3LT do. So far I haven't experienced any of the bugs others have. Probably because cars that have rolled off the line later in the model year have had the issues addressed. Getting used to the 7 speed has taken a while. Both my previous Vettes were AT. The car will pull nicely in any gear from about 30mph except 7th. 7th is for higher speeds on the interstate only. I have only driven the car in touring mode so far. ECO mode gives better highway mileage by shutting down cylinders but even without going to ECO mode I average around 29 mpg on the interstate.
You don't need to be in ECO mode to shut cylinders down. It happens automatically even in Touring mode. The DIC can show you whether you are in V8 or V4 mode.
My only problem I had with the seven speed trans. has been going from fifth to sixth. I went into fourth twice before I got the gate right, no further problems. I have tried tour, sport and track, the throttle response steering and and rev sync change. Cylinder drop out only happens in eco with the manual transmission.

Not with the Manual transmission. With the M7, you must be in ECO mode to get V4 mode.

The OP's car is a manual and with the manual, cylinder deactivation only occurs in Eco mode.
