I have just checked the Engine Control Module settings (tune) on both an auto and manual 2014 C7. In both cases it shows a Speed Limiter of 135 mph and says "Speed at which fuel delivery is disabled."

Not having driven a C7 above that speed I cannot verify that information.

Well, I just opened the stock tune for a 2007 M6 Z51 and:

Rev limiter 6700 RPMs controlled by fuel cut off
Speed limited 186 MPH controlled by throttle option.

I don't have my 2014 downloaded into my files yet but I'm going to take a SWAG and say Rev and Speed limiting are in there too.

Both can easily be edited to higher numbers but those are the settings coming from the factory.

I also had rev and speed limits on my 98 Camaro with the LS1 engine.

Now in another area "Speed Limiter 2" it says "Limit 181" and then "Resume 182"

Haven't tested it, so it is unconfirmed in my book.
Pretty sure that was the top speed set for the C6 LS2. 300kph was the target to market the car in Europe.

I bought an 05 that came with a DVD that showed a video of the car on the autobahn at 186mph

For all the poster who find the limiter, if it is there........ a tuner can most likely correct that. Other then running the "mile events" not sure where any of this would make a difference. As someone posted changing is gearing 5 & 6 th would be needed too.

I do remember years ago a C5 Z06 I think..... ran like 195....... They put duct tape of the hood and pushed the mirrors back and it went over 200.

So you Andretti types may be able to test that limiter with a little duct tape.

I have had my Z51 Auto up to 168 MPH so it's not limited to 135. My guess is in the 180 MPH ball park top speed real world.

Another BS flag, not very many would buy this car if it couldn't go over 135.

Below is the speed limiter table from a stock 2014 C7. As you notice I never said it could not go over 135 mph.

But BS is thinking that not many would buy a C7 if it couldn't go over 135 mph.

Maybe it's disabled somewhere else in the ECU, so the 135 value does not apply.

No mods I've gone 168 mph. I guess I just got lucky? Also, the 3 other c7's that were at the track with me on another occasion all hit over 135mph on back stretch of PBIRI. One was not a Z51 car. Anyone have their car shut off @ 135MPH? It seems I'm not the only one who has not experienced this. Anyone who has tracked their car should have hit over 135MPH on most tracks. So far many are reporting speeds over 135 MPH, but NOONE is reporting the car not going over 135MPH.

Actually, the speed limiter was set at 205 mph for the Z06, which is why no one ever noticed.

That was just my thoughts, had mine at 141, had plenty of power left, will try for more later, I wonder if this is just a tat tale for the dealership to see how people are driving there cars???
Seems like there is someone watching us all the time, well they are trying.
