If your not going to track you car not sure why the Z51 is so important. I do like the wheels but they can be added later and everyone will think you have a Z51 while your cruising the Ice Cream stands on a Sat night.
The 2LT doesn't have $4200 of worthwhile things in it... sorry. I set aside $70,000 cash to order a Stingray and I only came up with two options I actually wanted and paid $51,614. Left aside a nice pool to go with the Z06 in a few years.
HUD is nice, don't need it, though. Probably the only option I'd want out of the whole 2LT package.
Don't need heated seats - no hemorrhoids yet.
Subwoofer - no thanks.. don't need my doors rattling.
Universal Home Remote - I can buy one for $125 or so.
Auto Dimming Mirrors - Was a 1LT option on the C6, but eh..
Sorry, I can't see why that stuff is worth $4,200 and the weight it comes with. I may have grabbed it if I could have gotten the full on employee discount over supplier, because I would have gotten a 10k discount over a 6k discount. But all I would have cared for was the HUD.
I hope to god the 1LZ Z06 doesn't come with all that junk.
2lt z51 mag ride, nav, npp, chrome wheels is about 8600 discount not 10000 grand.

The must have options depend on your tastes and what you can afford. What others think is nice to know but does not make the car good for you. Check-out the options, decide what you like and if the price is good for you, go for it. If the price is too high, drop your least favorite options until the price is right.
No one here knows who you are, how you drive or what your lifestyle requirements are so they will just tell you what they like....pretty useless
I suggest you read about every option here and then go to the chev configurator and price them. Then see a forum dealer and order at 2015.
This is not an option above I think that is that important, in my situation...
+1 .. It's up to you to know the car .. get on the GM 'Build a Corvette' site and play around with the options. Anything you don't understand, search and educate yourself. Decide what YOU need, and want and can afford. Hearing what other people have is interesting, but perhaps not useful in making a purchase decision ..
We all have different opinions on what we consider worthwhile, but the cars are still a Corvette regardless of options. Same horsepower (well... without NPP 5 less), same badge.
Yep! Exactly. It's all about our personal experiences.
And take my word on it: If I couldn't afford the top of the line fully loaded C7, I'm 100% certain I still would have loved even an option-free Corvette. This car is amazing inside and out.

Couldn't agree more.

For me, it was the mag-ride. I do plan to track my C7. I've taken it to an auto cross, but I haven't had a chance to take it to Willow yet.
But even if I didn't plan to track it, many of the features of the Z51 are still items I'd like to have. The steeper gearing, the eLSD, mag-ride especially. I even wanted the wheels. Without tracking the car, I doubt I'll ever need the brakes, but it can't hurt!
Save money and get a manual transmission. Then get a Z51 2LT. I can not imagine this car without the Heads up display or heated /cooled seats (2lt). The Z51 is worth it for cosmetic or performance reasons. Pick your poison. In order of priority:
2lt
Z51
NPP
Magnetic ride
Those would be in my priority as well! In my case wouldn't drive without having a std trans. Rev matching is so cool, use it all the time!
