Save money and get a manual transmission. Then get a Z51 2LT. I can not imagine this car without the Heads up display or heated /cooled seats (2lt). The Z51 is worth it for cosmetic or performance reasons. Pick your poison. In order of priority:
2lt
Z51
NPP
Magnetic ride

No one here knows who you are, how you drive or what your lifestyle requirements are so they will just tell you what they like....pretty useless

I suggest you read about every option here and then go to the chev configurator and price them. Then see a forum dealer and order at 2015.

This is not an option above I think that is that important, in my situation...

Base 1LT with NO options is still a much nicer car than what over 90% of the population are driving.

The dual mode exhaust is a MUST HAVE for most buyers; it adds 5 HP, 5 LBS of torque, and can be turned on & off.

The cars are really loaded in my opinion, even in 1LT base form.

I couldn't disagree more.

Options that shed weight or gives the driver more control are very worthwhile.

And if we're not strictly talking about performance, I think the 2LT/3LT interior is very worthwhile.

The 2LT doesn't have $4200 of worthwhile things in it... sorry. I set aside $70,000 cash to order a Stingray and I only came up with two options I actually wanted and paid $51,614. Left aside a nice pool to go with the Z06 in a few years.

HUD is nice, don't need it, though. Probably the only option I'd want out of the whole 2LT package.
Don't need heated seats - no hemorrhoids yet.
Subwoofer - no thanks.. don't need my doors rattling.
Universal Home Remote - I can buy one for $125 or so.
Auto Dimming Mirrors - Was a 1LT option on the C6, but eh..

Sorry, I can't see why that stuff is worth $4,200 and the weight it comes with. I may have grabbed it if I could have gotten the full on employee discount over supplier, because I would have gotten a 10k discount over a 6k discount. But all I would have cared for was the HUD.

I hope to god the 1LZ Z06 doesn't come with all that junk.

OP I know you want our opinions but your opinion and YOUR budget are the only two things that matter. Work with what you got and don't worry about us!

Worthwhile is still subjective.

I didn't think price when I ordered my C7. I'm not rich, but I knew that I didn't want to regret not getting everything I wanted. Were all the options I ordered worthwhile? No. The 2 things I ordered that I'll likely never use would be the transparent top and the battery tender.

But I won't buy another car without a HUD if it's offered. I use it a lot and missed it right away when I didn't have it.

The 2LT is mostly luxury items. I consider the HUD a safety item, mostly. But the rest is all comfort stuff. The better leather, the heated/cooled seats. The sound system negligible.

I ordered a 3LT for the brownstone. That was indeed worthwhile to me. Did I mention that as the "worthwhile" option here? No, because that's highly subjective in comparison to what I DID offer.

In any case, if you plan to daily drive the car, the 2LT is probably a worthwhile option.

Also, the Z51 and Magride options are very much worthwhile. For the mag ride alone it's worth it. I use it on a daily basis.

We all have different opinions on what we consider worthwhile, but the cars are still a Corvette regardless of options. Same horsepower (well... without NPP 5 less), same badge.

Are you using the digital speedometer in the gauge cluster? I think that for most ordinary driving purposes that's going to be just as good as HUD--very clear and easy to read.

I agree with those saying that base 1LT is better equipped than most cars on the road. The nice extra stuff on 2LT and 3LT is indeed nice, but just that, not necessary.

nothing in the 2 or 3 lt packages I wanted. HUD and loud exhaust not for me. Z51 fine for going on the race track but for thoroughly enjoying the car and the drive and getting from point a to point b the base car is awesome on its own. Didn't need to spend money on things I would get absolutely no extra enjoyment out of so for $49,995 I got a world class sports car. But if there are options you would enjoy, get them. The car is so priced under what I would consider real value that extra options are affordable.

The above is not precisely my car (auto, 3LT) but having lived with the car and listened through these CF discussions, I think all 4 of the above options (all on my car) are very valuable to enjoy the full Corvette Stingray experience. It is much fun to cycle through the Tour, Sport and Track modes and feel and hear the entire personality of the car change. While I am sure some of that is true on a non-Z51, non MSRC Stingray, I am confident you will most enjoy the full experience.

Finally, whatever you choose as options, you will LOVE this car!

If money is tight, there are no options that are essential. The car is amazing naked.

Money is an issue for me but I am prepared to go with the 2LT because I want a convertible and I think that heated seats will add weeks if not months to the time when I can enjoy the ride with the top down. I also plan to add NAV even though it is hard to justify $800 when I can buy a Garmin for $80 (or use the one I already have).

That's all I plan to add. The Z51 is great if you're going to the track. For a daily driver, not so much. And while the mag is probably really cool, is it essential? No way. The C7 is a great car without it and the regular suspension appears to be tuned for the daily driver, not for the race car aficionado. I am the former, so I don't need Z51.

I would be more concerned about where I would buy it and the salesperson that I am dealing with to purchase the car. If you have a good dealership and a knowledgeable sales person, who is focused on selling you a car for you and not for profit, well you have half the battle licked. You and only you need to determine what is the best option to purchase. Best of luck, and remember this, you have to drive and live with the car for the next several years, might as well make it worth it when you decide what you want on the car now. Once you take delivery, most options cannot be put into the car without considerable expense, if they can be put on at all. Choose wisely, and listen to you own gut, not somebody else.
