I just bought my vette three weeks ago and only have 400 miles on it. Today after work the horn beeped three times and I received a "Theft Attempted" message on the DIC. With the many security sensors, how do I find out exactly what triggered the alarm to prevent it in the future? I see no obvious damage to the vehicle. The windows were up and the top on. Nothing fell inside that I see although I did have a sun screen up (it has always been used though). Any thoughts? I am thinking about hiding/mounting two battery mounted wide angle cameras (forward and backward) on motion record mode.

Hey there,
I apologize for any concerns that you may have on your Vette’s alarm. Feel free to private message us if this is something you would like us to reach out to your dealership about. If so, please respond with your contact information, VIN, and preferred dealership name/location. Have a great day!
Do the C7's have impact detection where the alarm would go off if someone pounded on the glass or on one of the panels?
I have yet been able to get my alarm to go off and wonder if it's even working...?
Thanks!
I was wondering the same thing..I set my alarm and hit the window trying to make it go off and it did not...of course I wasn't hitting it like a thief would. I also tried rocking the car and that did not set the alarm either...again probably not hard enough.
I did however test the intrusion detection and that worked by leaving a window down and reaching into the car.
I had the same thing happen to me but I was the one doing the tapering. When I received my car I had questions about the cap less fuel tank. I was just making sure it was secured by placing the key fob in the house and trying to get into the door. I pressed and wiggled that thing in every direction trying to get it open. I then retrieved my fob and upon unlocking the vehicle I received three horn chirps. I'm sure this is one of many alerts built into the system.
I've set off the alarm twice as I started jacking up the car to remove a wheel in my garage. I have to remind myself to unlock the car first ...
lmao I did this about 20 times in one day on my friends CLS puttin rims on outside the shop. doesn't happen when the car is on the lift (cause its flat)

I have the same problem with a convertible. I have this message routinely. Even in my own garage. I did not hear any alarms during the time before I drove it.

When jacking the car, there is a switch next to the hatch release button to shut off that feature!
That is going to annoy the crap out of everyone working in the area.
Wondered why I had a warning that the alarm went off when I was in a restaurant. Then a poster mentioned how little movement is needed for the intrusion alarm to trigger. I recalled my radar detector suction cup mount came loose! I have a tether attached so it fell perhaps 6 inches from the roof but that was the cause! Can’t have anything in the car that can move.
You can shut off the vibration detection with a switch next to the hatch release if that is the concern.
