Started the car up tonight and it sounded ruff, I pulled it out of the garage to warm up and the check engine light started flashing, service rear axle and service stabiltrack. I hit the On star button an they run a check and said it is an engine misfire any info on this .My vin is 4795 I thought the rear end issue was fixed anyone have this happen.
First make sure your spark plug wires are all seated all the way on the plugs. Also, make sure your battery cables are completely tight. That is a common root cause for the service rear axle message and it could possibly have other impacts as well including potential for misfires but that part is just speculation.

my c6z used to get a check engine it would disable and say service traction system. So since the code is a misfire (which sucks) it is possible that the axle and stabiltrack is related to that.
Hope the misfire is a simple fix. Keep us posted !

Glad to help.
Next check your battery connections. That has been linked to the service rear axle message. I'd also suggest checking your diff fluid level but I am not sure what the process is on that. Regardless, I'd check those battery cables. In fact, I'd remove them completely and reconnect them several minutes later. If you have a code scanner, I try clearing it the code if the CEL persists after you disconnect the battery and reconnect the battery. Other than the above, you may need to take a trip to the dealer.

the check engine eventually should go out on its own after a few cycles of everything running correctly. That may take the service rear axle light off as well.
Best bet is find a local family owned shop that maybe will scan the car for you and clear the CEL for you for free. You could go to the dealer and have them do it as well, but I have people come in my boys shop and if they are nice and friendly I will scan the car for no charge/clear the light. Can you believe some people charge 100 bucks to scan a car ?

This may be harder than you think. I have a scan tool, and when I did my exhaust I forgot to hook up one of the front valves and it threw a light. Tried to clear the code and it told me "command rejected". Makes me wonder if you need something special to clear codes on the car..

Odd.... what scan tool do you have ? I have heard of some of the cheaper ones rejecting certain cars/ or visa versa the car rejecting the tool.

Its an Actron AutoScanner Plus CP9180. Also have an SCT tuner from my mustang that can clear codes, but didnt try that one. My codes ended up clearing themselves after a few cycles.

Not sure about your scanner but my 2 or 3 year old Innovative Motorsports iPhone Scanner works fine for clearing codes on the C7.

Did you go to Actron's site and try downloading any updates for your scanner? With the changes in the exhaust system because of the additional valves to control sound in AFM mode there may be an update from Actron to handle some new DTCs.
