I would agree with you partially. I waited till they were on 15000 before I decided to pull the trigger. I'm vin 16696 5500 miles now and I haven't had a single issue.

Now vins 1-5000 I would consider that a different story. I've heard of software glitches and low diff fluid. But even then it's not like those problems won't be fixed for the owner.

My advice to you is wait till the last year of the C7, maybe 2022, then all the problems should be worked out. I bought a first year C6, best car I ever bought. (and most reliable). Bought a second year C6Z, worst car I ever bought. nuff said about your theory.

I love this mentality that as the 14's roll off and the 15's roll on a few days apart all the sudden there are no longer any bugs.
It's more likely you will make more trips to the dealer the first model year. There's been some defects, but many of the complaints have been about an annoyance or oversight that could be eliminated with a minor redesign for 2015. The second model year should be a better car.

There might be more complaints because it's a first-year car, but watching someone walk into a tree while looking at it is:

PRICELESS!

Yeah, NO ONE should have bought a 2014 Corvette... That way they can work out all the bugs for the 2015 that they would not be building!

ALL years have issues. The 2015 will have just as many issues as the 2014. Enjoy your more expensive "Old news" C7 in 2015

This is coming from someone that with a C7 that has spent a ton of time in the shop. Still love the car, was it frustrating at some points? Yes, is it well worth it? YES!

I agree. No amount of testing can reveal real life issues it may have. All products improve after the initial introduction as the company reacts to correct. Case in point is the 14 Ultra Classis that came out this year water cooled......the first for Harley Davidson. I am sure it passed the rigors of company testing but had initial issues when introduced to the masses. Those issues have been remedied by Harley Davidson. This will also be true with the c7 like any other product.

Without question as the 16 will improve further.

Same here.

I do remember the C6 problems that quite a few had though, like DBS, flying roof, crank pulley coming off, auto trans stuck in park, differentials grenading. It seems to me that the C6 problems were more serious and widespread than what most of the C7 problems are. It seems that there are far fewer problems with the C7 compared to the C6 and the C7 is a completely new vehicle. I think the car is very good (and a lot of fun to drive).

This is my 5th first year car, and I've never had any issues. I've had an '05 Corvette, '09 370z, '03 Cavalier, '05 Scion tc, and now a '14 Corvette. Ever year can have it's issues, not just the first year. Maybe I've just been lucky, but I think that first year stuff is hogwash.

If you're concerned, just make sure to drive it enough while under warranty to work the bugs out.

Are you serious? Why do you post such crap here? You have absolutely nothing nice to say about anything remotely related to the C7 and you don't own one, yet you keep trolling here. I don't get it.

Your joking right? What about cars being sent back to the factory to be re paneled due to bad paint? Several blown motors, oil leaks, broken shocks, information screens not working or responding to touch. windshields cracking, trunks not closing properly, mis fit body panels. bad cams and more. Yes I have been keeping a list.
