I wonder if they'll give the data recorder to 2014 owners if it's the same unit but just with a different software version. Probably not, buy a fella can hope, right?!? I likely would never use it, anyway, but it'd be nice to see them look out for the early adopters.

I'd really be more interested in the paint protection stuff than anything frankly.

So if I read this right, the A8 is only available with one rear-end - the 2.41 ? How will this effect acceleration relative to a A6 with the Z51 option 2.73 rear end ? That is a 12% lower ratio....

I believe the base car will get 2.41's with the Z51 getting 2.73's.
Haven't looked too closely at the order guide but maybe 2.73's are optional on base car in '15?

...with maybe just one small mistake: "...Daytona Sunrise Orange Metallic returns" ---not really since the prior gen's Daytona Orange was Daytona Sunset Orange Metalic (DSOM). I would guess, side-by-side, they will be different colors, as the models are, too.

Meh... Looks like you can have a car that "looks like" a Z51 but doesn't have the go fast parts. That's going to be a VERY popular option

Yeah, I can't wait to see the percentage of base cars that get that " look option "..... the ducts and suspension do not lie though.

Exactly....Seems an awful lot of people here sprang for the Z51 package cause the wheels were "Purty"... Now you won't be able to tell the poseurs from the poseurs!!

That's funny. I thought all Stingray's were the "base model" only the Z06 is a separate model. If it make some feel superior that's nice. But yea the ZF1 option will sell like hot cakes. So look for more Z51 badges.

Funny as the things that matter the most on the Z51 (e-diff, dry sump, etc.) have nothing to do with looks, and make the biggest difference. The Z51 makes the Vette imho, and is worthless without it.

dumb article.

they call the badges "carbon fiber" when they are Carbon Flash.. not a big deal, but goes to show how closely they're reading and tarnishes the credibility of the article as a whole.

Same ploy used for selling the C6 GS over the Z06 - get the show without the go.

Agree, that applied to the GS vs Z06 but not really to the ZF1 vs Z51 being discussed, unless you have some GM published specs we don't know about.

Well .. aren't we the elitist. To call a non-Z51 Stingray 'worthless' is an undefendable point of view. My car will never be on a track, will never see 150 mph, doesn't need to have magnetic-controlled suspension or an e-diff. The Z51 package is undoubtedly way cool, but not for everyone. The base model is perfectly suited to my needs, so I couldn't justify the extra cost just for bragging rights.

Still can't get the great Magnetic Selective Ride Control with anything other than the Z51. So, even if I was ordering a 2015 rather than driving my 2014 I would get the Z51 to "qualify" for MSRC. For those that are satisfied with the excellent base suspension, the ZF1 Appearance Package is a very good option (assuming reasonable pricing). Probably only the most observant will be able to discern the smaller brakes of the base model.

All Stingrays should be Z51's from the factory. A Corvette is about performance.

I agree. Converted to inches, the Z51 front calipers are only 1" bigger diameter which is only 1/2" radius which is nearly undiscernable, although there will likely be guys on this forum that get skilled at this!

Well, everyone's entitled to an opinion.

And the Stingray without the Z51 package is what, a Yugo? It still outperforms 99% of the cars on the road.

Does anyone have any idea exactly which part(s) is holding up Z51 orders?
