Wait, the back up cam isnt top notch? Well time to get my deposit back.
As far as backup cameras go, it seems to be top-notch. But compare it to HDTV, and no, it's not that good. But whose is?
BMW (and probably others) have an option for front-side cameras. There is a camera on each side fender up front. The display is split showing what's to the left and what's to the right. It is very handy for coming out of alleys, for example. It seems that the Vette could benefit from this type of system. It would be nice if Chevy offered this too.
One of the things I hate the most is backing out of a space when flanked by two pickup trucks; a common occurrence here in TX. (I know, park in the back 40). Does the backup camera help any with determining if the path is clear to the sides?
Back in the space when you can, the camera has a pretty narrow field of view and you wont see much out of a coupe or vert with the top up. Plus backing in will save your front fascia, all it takes is one 'oops' pulling a little too far forward on a high curb to ruin your day.
