Now what? Can NPP mufflers be installed after the fact? What about after market? No interest in more H.P. Just want Corvette throaty sound without being very aggressive.
you only need npp if you drive your vette like a grandma... if you drive it like a Vette, it sounds GREAT stock
I was amazed at sound the stock system does make. Louder than I expected, in a good way. I have really not gotten on it real hard, still below 500 miles. Second gear sounds good when you bring in the power, smartly.
The stock non NPP system does sound great but the pipes look anemic ...yes Larry, I know you love yours.....
The Stingray is hard to get a test drive, let alone sample various options. So you make educated choices based on prior experience. So I went with a base car initially, purchased my own demo. I will drive a Z51 magnetic ride NPP equipped car when I get the chance.
For the overwhelming majority, the stock system simply does NOT sound good enough, even when you get on the throttle. The stock system just isn't "amazing". The car has a totally different attitude with the NPP. Many feel it is the best $1100 spent on the car.

I suppose I'll get myself in trouble for this one. But I have NPP and they DO NOT have a "throaty sound". Even in track mode-NO throaty. I would suggest maybe you contact David Borla at Borla Exhaust systems if thats what you want. Iam now contamplating it myself. The exhaust system is a very "complicated" issue because it is so "subjective" really more than "objective". Everybody hears sounds differently and its tough to know what you are looking for.
Had Corsas on every Vette I owned, loved the aggressive sound of the extremes and the whisper quite with no drone when I want it. I am now second guessing that decision as I ordered NPP on my new Vette, hope I like it as much as the Corsas.

I would recommend an aftermarket meisterschaft system, They sound alot better than any NPP out there and they are available with a remote control that let you open and close butterfly valves.

Both our ATAK and S-Type systems for the NPP cars are louder and more aggressive than stock in the "sport", or loud, setting. They also have distinctly different exhaust notes. So, not only are they louder from purely a decibel level perspective but they are also different in tone from the stock system (they are also different in tone from one another). For the "touring", or quiet, setting we kept it pretty close to stock in decibel level but again the notes are different from stock.
