Now what? Can NPP mufflers be installed after the fact? What about after market? No interest in more H.P. Just want Corvette throaty sound without being very aggressive.
As derv said, it's been discussed here in several threads. Do a search but they all end the same way.
Your best bet will be to get an aftermarket exhaust. NPP can't be added after the fact to work with the factory mode selector. You may be able to rig something up via a mild to wild switch but the it really won't be cost effective. Some members have added the dual mode without any function of the valves so it's in loud mode which is kind of silly in my opinion.
I'd suggest looking into the B&B fusion. I think they have an option to work with a mild to wild switch similar to that of the C6 but keep in mind that the C7 solenoids will not be cheap. The after market dual mode exhaust systems use the factory solenoids. As such, used dual mode factory exhausts will not include the solenoids as they are typically transferred to the new aftermarket system.
If I were you, I'd just go with an aftermarket exhaust. Just do you homework so you get one that won't introduce drone. Also keep in mind that any louder non dual mode exhaust is going to leave for a very noticeable sound difference when the car switches in and out of cylinder deactivation mode. If I were in your shoes, I'd contact B&B and see what they would suggest.
Try NoWeeds. They produce a high quality product that allows the driver to dial in just what sound is desired, and there is a similar HP boost if that is a factor.
I added it to my car that was dealer stock non-npp.
500 dollars and it is new condition.
A&A Corvette put it on for me. I have the valve actuator's from GM. It moved down the list of things to do as far getting them to close.
Someone soon will get it done.
If you are not happy, trade it off, it will never be right. I didn't get NPP either, I'm currently happy, maybe next time. Exhaust noise really isn't my thing.

That's a full muffler bypass system. Very unique in that it allows you to vary the amount of bypass resulting in adjustable noise levels. Very interesting concept.
There really is NO trade off for not having a proper throaty exhaust on a Corvette. If that is what you want it will never be right and you will never be truly happy without the proper exhaust sound. Explore the after market. Having the proper throaty exhaust "sound" is almost everyone's thing.
LMR also has a set of insertable solenoids....not sure on the price. One good point to note that having had the NPP on previous Vette's this GEN.....nailed it it is not just a set of pipes with Gates these are tuned to this engine in many ways IMO...the package really works
I thought about not ordering NPP at first and going aftermarket. When I started seeing the prices of the aftermarket offerings I was glad I did order NPP. For $1195 option, the NPP is a no brainer on the C7, if you care about exhaust tone. In your predicament, I would probably go with Corsa though.

So, there is no way you could change your order? The option is just not the NPP mufflers, it is the performance exhaust package. I think it is very neat when you can go into different modes with this option.
