Per page 10-59 of the owner manual, the TPMS has an Auto Learn function, but this isn't 100%. If it can't sync with the sensors, a Service TMPS is displayed in the DIC. I switched to my summer wheels and tires today, and the system did not automatically detect the different sensors in the new wheels. I took it to the dealer, and learned that this is the procedure to be followed:
Turn on the car*.
Select the tire pressure display in the DIC.
Press and hold the SEL button until the display changes and the horn beeps.
The technician can then use the tool to set each sensor.
*You can turn the car on without having the engine started by pressing and holding the Start button without depressing the clutch or brake pedal. It takes several seconds for the car to turn on.
Interesting. I wish I had seen that thread before having the tires mounted. At this point, I'm just going to live with what I have rather than have the sensors replaced.
I have put two sets of wheels on the c7. Both times they move the sensors to the same wheel position. Both times I have had no lights or anything, when I drive out it's as if I have not made any changes at all.

When I bought new wheels, I also purchased new TPMS from the dealer and kept the original set mounted on my stock wheels. Shortly after mounting the new wheels, the TPMS service light came on. This was due to the dealer selling me the wrong part number. Once the new TPMS were installed, the position of the TPMS did not matter and it will self reset.
