48 hours ?? Are there any local drag strips open then? LOL
My installer came over and set up shop in my garage. Took about 7 hours.
He covered each piece of the grill. Yikes, I could not do that.

GET THE ROCKERS AND QUARTER PANELS COVERED TOO OR YOU WILL REGRET IT.
Thanks,
John
As far as the 24 hours etc to get it done Properly .. Others may feel differently.
But, I found that any of the High end ( qualified ) installers I contacted all mentioned that to me and explained why in detail.
The installers I talked with clean and prep the car extensively.
They have a Controlled Clean environment to work in.
They like to have the car sit for a certain period of time out of the elements after the install for it to settle and adhere properly as you already mentioned.
It made a lot of sense to me what they had to say when compared to some other installers I talked with

IMO, the quality of the material is important.
But the expertize of the installer accounts for 95% of the quality of the install and how it will look and last.
YMMV - just my 2 cents for what it's worth

I got a quote from another installer closer to the NCM that was about what you got quoted. Message up the XPel rep on here and ask for recommended installers in your area.
By the way, good choice on doing the partial hood / fenders, the shape of the car really doesn't require the full hood / fender coverage, especially if you've got a set of the GM splash guards installed (which I highly recommend).
