I would argue that the Z51 package was priced incorrectly in 2014 and consumers benefitted from it. Those who took advantage were fortunate to do so. But few who did I doubt think themselves superior because of it, just like 3LT isn't superior to 2LT which isn't superior to 1LT. They're just choices that people made.

News flash for you: Yours is a base model with the Z51 option package. It's not a different model. When the Z06 comes out next year it will be better than every single 2014 C7, including yours. You will be the poser that others despise.
I raced my C6 more and faster than 99.999% of Vette owners, including C7s. I decided I wouldn't race my C7 because I wanted a vert, and I decided I didn't need or want the Z51 option. I guess by your definition I'm a poser and not an enthusiast.
Get over your bad self.

I was initially going to wait for the z06 but when I saw what they were including with the z51 option I ordered one immediately as it was obviously underpriced. I despise the base models made to look like the "real deal" performance versions. But a lot more buyers are poseurs than enthusiasts and that is ok with me 'cause I can buy a mass produced high performance car for a song and a half.
Nevermind.

I got the z51 option for several reasons, not the least of which is the car is more advanced ( eLSD and dry sump), but also so I could get mag ride. I'll never track my car but wanted the most advanced one I could get.

You beat me to it! I was in a GM meeting back in 2008 where dealers were screaming for an automatic Z06. I told them they didn't need auto Z06, they just needed a regular car with the Z06 body. The other dealers said I was crazy but GM asked me why. I told them that 75% of the people buying the Z06 were buying it for the look not the performance. If you look at the Z06 sales numbers after the Grand Sport came out you'll see I was correct.
This is the same thing. Back in November I told the factory that if they wanted to solve their Z51 constraint problem, all they had to do was make the Z51 wheel available on the non-Z51 car. The bulk of the people buying Z51 will never use it's mechanical components and are only buying it for the look.

The Z51 package was a great value at $2800 back when I bought my C7 without it last November. After having it on my '05 C6 it soon became apparent that I would never use it to its capabilities. And it's the same now with my C7. My best, so far, is 0.75 on an exit ramp. Fun leaving those tail gating SUV's far behind and I don't need a dry sump to do it.
Now, after almost 8 months ownership, the MOD bug is starting to get to me. That $2800 saved will probably now get used to buy TSW Nurburgring Wheels (maybe) and the OEM wing spoiler. No Z51 poser here.

Name calling and belittling other Corvette Owner's is not becoming or part of the Corvette brotherhood, but if it makes you feel better or superior have at it.
BTW this is a GM authorized and engineered Corvette option. If folks have a problem with that maybe they should take that up with GM and not hardworking long time Corvette enthusiasts just trying to buy and enjoy my Corvette.

Why should all the buyers of ZF 1 be so sensitive. You do not have to defend your decision. Just buy what you want and drive it. I love to poke at sensitive people..makes me laugh.
Every new Corvette buyer has far more car then any other drives no matter what options. Only insecure people would worry about their peers cars, in my opinion.

If you are a poseur then go ahead and be upset...maybe join a club and tell each other how great you are. I do not need the approval of my opinions by others...leave that to the politicians.

I'm trying to figure out how this post...
