Default CARID.Com BEWARE!

I purchased a license plate frame from this on line operation. After receipt, I opened it and put it on the car. The frame I ordered had reliefs in both lower corners for displaying revision stickers. However, the state name on the bottom of the tag was pretty much obscured. I asked a trooper friend to take a look at it and was told it would be illegal in SC.
I contacted CARID as instructed on the invoice, told them of the problem and asked for a return number. After several days, I got the return number, put the item back in the original packaging as instructed and paid to send it back.

Today, the return was denied by the manufacturer, not CARID from whom I purchased it. CARID just did a sidestep on resolving the problem and pointed at the manufacturer as the problem. No refund due to a scratch that the manufacturer said they found.

Just be aware that while CARID has many very good custom plate holders, they will not stand behind the items they sell. I have now filed a dispute with VISA to resolve the issue.

Default CarId is the worst!!!!!...yes beware and avoid!

I agree! Just purchased some running boards for my new truck. I ordered black and they sent chrome and without the mounting brackets they advertised were included. They said they would send a return label within 3 days then instead asked that I take pictures to send the to prove they were the wrong color!

I called the manufacturer to see if they could help me but they couldn't due to the fact that CarId ordered them. Then the mfg. told me that they ordered the wrong size for my truck anyway and the brackets are always extra cost order.

CarId has done everything to delay the return, avoid the return. Fortunately I paid with PayPal and they are defending me. Problem is that I may have to pay for the shipping back to CarId.

I would never, never order from this company again! Beware, they are scam artists. You wait for 1/2 hour at a time on hold to talk to anyone and then (by the voices) it sounds like some offshore unit who is scripted to just deflect your issues and cause more confusion and frustration.

Thanks for the warning.
I thought about ordering Z51 replica rims from them, but probably not after reading how bad their return policy is!

I sent them an email asking why they weren't doing the right thing with Corvette Forum members and specifically with the OP. I included a comment that until they cleaned up their act they were off my vendor list. This is the response I got from Ian of customer service....
"I regret that our service does not meet your expectations. I believe in the future we and the manufacturers will do our best to provide better quality of our services. I hope you will give us another chance to service your automotive needs". Huh?!?!
Canned responses speak volumes about a business that doesn't even review the situation and then tailor their replies.

I purchased a dash kit for my HHR from carid.
I messed up a couple of the pieces when installing.
They sent me replacement pieces at no cost and even
paid for the shipping.
I have no complaints.

Same here. I have purchased alot from them with no issues. Try calling your Credit Card provider and file for the refund with them.

I would not blame the supplier... sounds like you should have checked out the item and local laws before you purchased it to start with...

I knew Texas does not allow any of the plate to be obscured so I bought a frame that just goes behind the plate.

The word TEXAS and the actual plate numbers/letters cannot be obscured, the words along the bottom of the plate can be obscured.
