Default Brickyards for le$$

I have been shopping for a set of wheels for my Z51. It came down to a choice between the TSW Nurnburgrings and the Cray Brickyards. I liked the Cray's better, but I was swayed by the TSW'S price.

Well . . . . Just for the heck of it, I checked the price online at Discount Tire. It was unreal. I was sure it was a mistake. So, just to be sure, I went to my local Discount Tire shop and priced them. Nope. No mistake. The website was correct.

How about four Silver/Machined face Brickyards (two and two -19x9.5 and 20x11) for . . . wait for it . . . $1,250.00 plus sales tax delivered!!!!! And they will mount and balance them for $16.00 per wheel.

I know. I didn't believe it either, but they are sitting in my garage right now waiting for TPMS from GM Partshouse.

If you have been on the fence about the Brickyards, truck on down to Discount Tire before they discover their mistake. And NO. I don't work for Discount Tire.

Glad you got them, that's near below their cost....while you have them in boxes, seal them with a good sealant, locally, nu finish will do the job, alcohol/water spray wash them first....

2 coats nu finish, 12 hours apart....

If you want the best, spring for opti coat 2.0

nope. that's the same message I got. in my case it meant that it was not in stock in the Chicago area. they had to order them from California. took five whole days, including a weekend. if you are serious about getting them, I think you have to go to a store. that's what I had to do.

Purchased cry brickyards 18X9.5 5-120.65 56MBM, 19X11 5-120.65 73MBM's with Gorilla Lugs, black weights, balance, TPMS rebuild kit from Discount Tire for $1,346.
I tried Nu Finish on the wheels and it was very hard to apply. Using to paste on the outside of the wheel was OK, but very difficult to apply on the more matte black inner portion. I ended up putting it on and immediately buffing it off instead of following the directions of letting it dry to a haze.

sounds like good advice. can you elaborate? who makes "nu finish" and "opti coat" and where can I purchase them?

Nu finish is at any grocery store...get that if you've never detailed...google it.....

Opti coat easier....expensive to some, not to me...

Do not pay ant attention to their web site. Just call and have them check their supplier. Mine were installed at Discount Tier 6/03/14.

Ya, I used Eraser. Glen did you use the paste or the liquid. I think the paste may have been the problem.

Thanks again. As usual I over thought it - paste is thick=more protection

such a bargain.....if I go with winter tires later on these wheels would be a good choice.

also, this just illustrates the corvette tax in action....

Glen, I agree. I've had them all...from Iforged 3-piece customs to el cheapo reproductions. $300/wheel should be everyone's target price for a daily driver...show car=different story, of course.
