Had a rock create a sidewall issue which I feel I should replace just would sleep better. Half the people say replace half say its OK the way it is. The car currently has 5800 miles on it and of course they are OEM equipment on a non Z Stingray.
Do I replace just one tire? Or should they be done as a pair? Or does it have to be both, will it effect how the car handles if only one tire is replaced?
With 5800 miles you may not have enough wear that the difference is significant. Measure the tread depth versus a new and make your decision based upon whether there is enough difference between the two to matter.
If you do replace both, save the good worn tire because it may turn out to be the perfect match if one of your new ones is similarly damaged with a few thousand miles on it.
