So if you didn't drive the car for a week, would the Ipod still work. And if the Ipod did go dead, would it play if plugged into the usb port in the car or would it have to be charged first? Thanks
As long as you leave the Ipod power switch to off (Red dot showing) you won't run down its battery if the car sits for a while. When its in the off position the Ipod wakes up once it starts receiving power through the USB port after the car is started so you don't have to turn the Ipod on and off every time. It automatically senses power and turns on and then off when the USB power stops. Just be sure you have the Ipod powered off or you will drain the power. It's really a plug and forget affair.
I just tried out an old SD card (only 2 Gb) as well just to see how it works so now I actually have both in the car. I like the Ipod becuase I can set up my play lists but the stereo lets you sort music by title, artist and albums on the SD card too so both methods work for me. But since I have all my music on the Ipod that will be my main method. It's and old Ipod but it works well.
Bluetooth to your phone, USB or SD card. Dump the iPod and move on.
Why dump it if he has one and it works fine? All the methods you mentioned work great; there's no real wrong answer here. If someone has an Ipod all set up and they like it why not use it? Another plus is you can leave it in the car and forget it.

Show me how to do that on a SD car WHILE IN THE CAR.
I have to say I never used my iPod that way nor desired to with my SD card.
Total newbie with this Ipod Touch and I do not have a C7 yet. So behind the cubbie there is a USB port but no AUX? I thought the USB was to power the Ipod and the sound was transmitted out of the headphone cable into the AUX? Are you guys using a cable from the headphone connection or is the music relayed wirelessly when in the cubbie? Thanks.
