Anyone else rent one yet? I have one right now. Silver/black and very well equipped (3LT, NPP, yellow calipers, chromies, transparent top, cyber hood stripe etc). Been a great couple of days, already put 5O0 miles on it.
They have a dash plaque indicating it is one of 75 "Hertz editions".

Its a good way to get a real test drive.
I did this with a Viper. Rented one in vegas. It wasn't my cup of tea. Rented a new corvette in vegas the next day. Bought the corvette when I got home.
The "test drive" rental saved me from making an expensive mistake.
No they don't...gold member...$150 or so a day, unlimited mileage.
I rented it because I have serious concerns about the room in the car in relation to my size (6'5"/235). Good news: been a great couple of days, and a great test drive. Bad news: I am too big for the car to consider purchasing it.

Ok. Everyone is a 'gold member'--I got one for signing up at Hertz--not a big deal. And you will want to check your rental contract they do. Good luck...
Anyways, sorry to hear you're too big. Oh well I assume since C7 isn't for you based upon your review (I remember too many a negative post by you in the past). Anyways thanks for giving it a go.

Geez!
What is it about these Internet forums that bring out the insufferable know-it-alls?
It's certainly not unique to this forum. I've been at this since 1995 and they're all the same.

Oh, you mean the line that states "unlimited mileage" on my agreement? Maybe you have a different "gold member" card...perhaps the one for know-it-all toolbags?
I was picking up a car I rented at Avis in Orlando, FL a few weeks ago and the manager saw my Corvette shirt and told me excitedly that they just got in six Vettes. They had two on display in a special place as you walked up to pick up your car, nice display as one had the hood open. Here's three of them. Was disappointed they didn't have a convertible.

I'm surprised it's that loaded, since Hertz has been buying a lot of strippers for other models the past couple years. There goes my idea of renting one to see if the 1LT seats are comfortable.
BTW, I rented a C6 a couple years ago, and it was unlimited mileage.

When the car is eventually resold to a private owner, I can just picture the pride the new owner will have when he brags that he has the "Hertz Edition" vette with such standard features as frayed and stained seats, interior and exterior scratches, and a tired engine.
Who was the American writer who said that the fastest car you'll ever drive is a rental car? Hunter S.Thompson maybe?
Anyway, Orlando is a good place to rent a Vette.
My parents winter about 50 miles north of Orlando and I fly in every year for a visit and every year just outside the Hertz Gold board (for the condescending a-holes here, I don't mean to be 'acting big' by suggesting I'm a gold member) is a beautiful red corvette available for rent.

Avis Rent A Car in Orlando, FL
I was looking to find a place in Orlando to rent one... Is the Avis with the Corvette's the Airport (MCO) location, or another?
