Default Operating temp

Picked up a C7 this week and I am noticing the engine operating temp at out 220 degrees. This is about 20 deg warmer than my C6.

Is this normal?
Does I cool down after break in?

Mine has been at 220 the entire time I have had it. 4,500 miles and 9 months.

Cliff notes: The mechanical temp gauge is NOT showing 220. It's showing around 205. The 220 marking on the gauge face is very misleading.

If I really want to know the correct temp, I use the gauge in Perf. And my C7 (Z51, M7) has never gone above 212 and that was in 95+ outside temps and under load. At idle, even in hot outside temps, it never goes above 205.

I use the same guage, but you need to add an addt'l 5-7 deg for those of us in the "hot country".....
