I hate this clutch - it is too grabby!

I also posted this in the tech forum. This issue is ruining the ownership of this car for me.
I've owned and driven many high horsepower manual trans cars. My last one was a 600 Hp Gen IV Viper. I've driven C6Zs and even the ZR1 but NONE of the cars I've owned or driven grabs like the one in my C7!
No matter how smoothly I try to roll out the clutch pedal, it wants to grab almost all at once about 3-4" off the floor. It absolutely ruins the driving pleasure of this incredible car. This is ridiculous.
I've searched this in the forums under 'clutch' but haven't seen any other thread about this. I've talked to my dealer twice and he says it is normal.
I have about 1400 miles on my car and it has not improved since day 1.
Anyone else?
I HATE how this clutch engages.

It's sticky. It also depends on what you're used to I suppose.
The only thing I can say is that the grabbing does appear to diminish over time.

Hill hold feature maybe malfunctioning I had problems with my first drive on level ground with friends z51 convertible. That was just a thought sensor can be off.

The clutch is grabby on the C7. It just is. You have to get used to it.

I'm pretty sure it's not the hill hold feature. It just seems like it can't be feathered easily. Unlike any other manual I've driven.

Mine is smooth just is fully engaged where the C6 just started to take hold. The only issue I have is the hill hold feature, stalled it again today. Hill hold was engaged, I felt car's resistance to move, let the clutch out to rapidly for this additional resistance and stalled the engine, again. Darn!

I don't own a C7 yet, but did get to drive several different C7s at Spring Mountain. I felt that 1st gear did engage rather abruptly compared to my C6. It took some getting use to. It's not necessarily bad, just different.

I wasn't a huge fan of the clutch initially. Being long legged I was grateful that I could fully engage the clutch without my knees hitting the steering wheel, but it was a huge change from my other manual transmission cars. It doesn't begin engaging til nearly the end of the pedal release travel, and does so somewhat abruptly. I had almost 3700 miles of driving to do before I got home with mine, and another thousand miles of driving later I'm still not completely in tune with the thing. My biggest issue with it is starting from a dead stop, just feels like "nothing... nothing... nothing... wait for it.. GRAB". Other than that, no real complaints about the setup.

If the miracle ever happens and I get a date they typically complain about my grabbiness. I guess I should have gotten the manual on my C7, it sounds like we might have gotten along together real swell.

I found the clutch engagement to be somewhat difficult to execute smoothly, but I attributed it to not driving a manual for several years. I now have over 14,000 miles on mine and I either got more proficient or the clutch has become more compliant! It is now engaging very smoothly regardless of how I release the clutch! Driving aggressively may help in "breaking it in"!

ohhh nice and helpful..
What you do when you're picking your nose or you loose track of which thumb does what through the twisties...Oh I forgot interstates don't have many turns...
OP Find another stick and drive it...See if its different or not. Surely there are more c7's in the area. Also on level road make a few easy starts in second...see how that feels compared to first...
good luck.

I think all of it is a completely moot point until you drive another C7.
It is either something wrong with your car or your interpretation of how the clutch catch's properly.
There is a difference between broken and not liking. Until you drive another one you will never know.
Personally I'd ask the dealer how many the tech has driven, bet it is not many.
