I ordered my 2015 at the end of July. I have the order number. I go to Chevy.com and track my order but when I put the information in, all I get is that it's queued for production and some of the options I ordered. Where do I see the event codes?

Ask your dealer to get them for you. They do not show on the GM tracking site.

Go back to the site and look on the right lower side of the page and click on the button that says CHAT and ask the person on line for your event code, you may have to request a Customer Service Rep to get the number but it's very quick

 

I'm in the same boat as you. Have the order no. but that is it. I was told, the dealer has yet to have the order accepted by GM. Once accepted, then it can be tracked.

 

I just went through the process of waiting for my C7 to be accepted, built, and delivered. The Chevy tracker site has 5 summary codes, in reality, there are 27 codes prior to you having your car delivered.
Ask the chat line to provide the exact code so that you can get a realistic approximation of where you are in the build cycle.

Once you get to 3000, how long does it take to get a tpw??

 

While this course of action may get you a status code, the people on the GM chat are not known to be very informed, and a lot of bad info comes off of there.
You are much better off using the Tracking thread mentioned above. it is one of the first threads in the sticky section at the top of C7 General. It may take a day or two to get an answer, but the info will be correct.

As an alternative, the status codes are listed on the GM OrderWORKBENCH document, which your dealer can pull up anytime with a few keystrokes. Since they are making thousands of dollars on your order, make them do something for their money. My dealer, Fichtner Chevy, sent me a weekly update by e-mail, as well as a copy of the OrderWORKBENCH document every time the status changed.


Actually, if your order has not been accepted by GM, it is easy to track. You are at Status 1100. This basically means your dealer has successfully typed your order on the computer, nothing more. There are a fair number of guys on this forum who never got past 1100 for 2014, because they went to a dealer with few or no allocations, so their order was never accepted.

 

from what I've read...generally less than a week. Mine took a little longer; I'm suspecting it was due to the ZF1, or a constraint item (Shark Gray color).

I noticed of all the original 8-11 TPW's listed... none of them had the ZF1 at that time. Finally, my ZF1 optioned order got a TPW; and it was still for the first week of production.



it won't progress past 1100 without the dealer assigning an allocation to it.

BTW, my order advanced to 2000 - even with a constraint item on the order.

 

your dealer can tell you anytime what you code is...codes listed here in sticky thread....you should at the time of consummation of the deal tell him you want the code via email every monday morning or you'll take that in account when you do the delivery survey...guaranteed that will get his attention...it's big $$ to him if you burn him…

go ask the dealer every monday for this report called the gm workbench report. You don't have any car being built until this report says 2000 in the red circle:

 

Just remember, a Constraint doesn't necessarily mean an item can't be ordered, but that there are limits on the number which can be ordered. This past year, we have seen percentages from 0%, meaning no one gets that option this cycle, to 75%, which means 3 out of 4 orders can have that option. I believe your Shark Grey was at 15%, so obviously, you are one of the lucky 15 out of every 100 who gets a Shark Grey vette. Give all the color choices, a 15% constraint is not really that limiting. 0% for the new Orange, on the other hand, sucks for orange fans.
