I just got my car back from dealer. They agree that it does not seem to be working right, but GM engineering says it is working as designed. When I first got the car there was a lot of air from the seat back. Im not sure if it is a coincidence or not, but they quit working properly after the first time they updated the software a few months ago, and it hasnt worked the same since.
I guess this is what we should expect when buying a Chevrolet/GM product.
Coming from a 2010 vert without ventilated seats my C7 does a fairly good job of cooling the seats down. I do agree it should stay automatically on the last setting prior to shut down like my DD does.
Mine work fine for about 15 to 20 minutes and then they stop. Both driver and passenger side. I have to turn them off for a while and then back on for them to start working again. I thought maybe I had just gotten used to the air flow, but I got out and checked and the fans were not turning. Maybe this is by design so the fan motors don't overheat.
mine certainly dose not work anywhere near as good as my wife's Tahoe. Sometimes it seems like it doesn't move any air at all and other times I can barely feel it, not impressed with it at all.
Sounds like 2 or 3 posters on here have it working correctly and the others never were, or were working but aren't now. Anyone contact the poster named "Chev Cust Svc" for what they might be able to do about it? This may be one of those common but not for everyone problems such as the dim dash.

It's not a problem...people just dont know what to expect. There is a HUGE difference betwenn "ventilated" and "cooled". Most people use them to mean the same thing when talking about our cars.
These are ventilated. That means if the temp in the car is 93 degrees, the little fan blows 93 degree air up through the cushions. If you have the A/C on and it is at 63, the little fan blows 63 degree air on to your tushy.
Another HUGE factor is the clothes you are wearing. If you have jeans and a sweater on , you wont feel the effects. T-Shirt and cotton shorts with the A/C on and you WILL feel it through the seats.

My seats do exactly the same, works great for a while then, seems as if it stops, only way to get them back on its to turn it off for a little while then turn them back on...strange,, the one on my Lexus stays on full time and it actually freezes my bhind if I leave it on...and it cost the same $$ as the Stingray. Still love my c7...but those little details are annoying. ?.everything should work as described by our beloved Chevrolet salesman, ..Right...Right??...
4300 miles and both seats ventilate just fine. In fact my wife remarks how cold it feels every time she turns it on. Hope they keep working, after reading this... I need it in TX in Summer.
Does the C7 have different levels of seat cooling? Our MKX has 3 positions for seat cooling/heating and is a great system but then again that thing weighs 4200 lbs.

Minis also junk on the driver's side. Dealer referred to GM engineering... Months ago. No word yet. Said the fans were slowing down intermittently.
This is one of the main reasons I went 2LT (and black interior vs gray), so I'm frustrated it isn't working well. I need solid cooling in California summers. Ford has the best system I've used, and I also wish for active cooling.
Mine don't work. Or I can't feel the cooling. I can feel cooling on my 2012 Kia Optima. I've been to the dealer (oil change) but not mentioned it. Since I did not buy the car specifically for "cooled" seats. It's not high on my list of concerns. But If it's supposed to work, I'd like it too.

I disagree. When they used to work and now they don't blow any air there is a problem. If I stand outside the car and hold my hand over the bottom I can feel some air, if I hold my hand over the seat back I feel no air. I have not once said the air is not old enough, I have stated that there is NO air flow at all on the seat back. There is a problem with these seats and dealer even said so, but GM wants to say there is no issue and can offer the dealer no help in solving the problem.
