2015 Corvette Price Increase

Me too, I knew this was going to happen: the whole " If you can afford the C6, you can the C7" was to test the market. Now GM knows what they CAN sell this car for. They tested the waters before Jacking up the price. Good strategy if you ask me.

I think they well bump it another Thousand by March.

The 2015 prices just hit the CFO'S desk......he just got done reading the current daily days supply report and an article in the buff mags praising the corvette.
Switch scenes to the national vette sales managers desk, phone rings...
CFO: WTF? do I see this right, you kept prices the same for 15?
SM: yup...we thought ......SUDDENLY CUT OFF IN MID SENTENCE
CFO: no, take it up an amount that won't affect sales....make it a grand....
SM: yes sir......
LOL

$1000 price increase, them you add the $3200 from back a few months ago. $4200 increase in six months for a Z51. Glad I bought when I did.

The decision to get my 2014 late in the game looks better and better. Chevy is getting the fat head now that people are complimenting the Corvette interior.

Whatever they raise it, it will likely be discounted right back off sooner than later, so it will likely only really impact those who gotta have the first of the new model year.

The performance exhaust is included as standard on the 2015 so it is in fact a decrease in price if this is something you wanted. Also the 2lt package went down $40. I was just pricing one today. The Auto Transmission went up around $400 to cover the two new gears

Isn't the performance exhaust only standard on the Z51? And isn't the 2015 Z51 package $1000 more than it was in 2014 to compensate for that? NPP was previously a $1200 option, so it was a break of $200 from what I had read previously.

I think that these continuous price increases are ridiculous. I thought that GM was on the right track by holding the 15 prices steady with no increase, after the huge mid-year 2014 price increase. In my opinion, the Corvette is no longer the big bang for the buck that it used to be in previous years/generations. I am glad though that I placed my order for my 15 at the old price when the order bank just opened in late June
What's gonna happen when all the normal Vette guys have a C7 in the garage? Will a "new" Vette potential buyer still think it's a great deal after a few more increases after this one?... If they keep bumping the price up every few months, how long before the buyer says "that's to much for a Chevrolet"... or... that potential young buyer says "I can get a preowned Lambo for that price".
I'd just like to see the car keep selling well on down the road and not start seeing cars building up with discount stickers.
I just hope they don't keep bumping the price up where potential new Vette buyers will be turned off.

I look at it as the price of admission. Some may get turned off, but maybe that's not a bad thing. There are plenty of buyers out there, and for the $$ it's a steal...still. Let's see how far they will push it.

And if you got either supplier/employee/military or credit union discount on top of that you really came out on top. Maybe time to put the feelers out to sell and do it all over again before the next increase, which will come as sure as sunrise. But for state taxes involved I'd be doing it yearly.
