For the last couple of years I have anticipated buying my first true sports car. It was going to be a Porsche Caymen S. Well things change... I started reading about this new great looking Corvette C7. You can not find anything bad about it in a vast amount of reviews, the more I read the more interested I became. I joined this forum a few month ago and have been lurking and absorbing everything I can.
Well on Friday with my lovely wife at my side I visit MacMulkin Chevrolet in NH for a look see. I placed my order for a Torch Red 2LT with black interior, Z51, 7 speed, mag ride, Nav with PDR dual roof, black wheels, carbon flash badges, carbon dash. I'm sure I made the right choice and can't wait for it to arrive. Life is good.

You may want to reconsider the dual roof option unless you're willing to wait indefinitely for your car. No C7s are currently being built with dual roofs due to supply problems. (The option is on 0% constraint.)
No word on delivery yet. Still very early in process. Hope the dual roof does not hold things up. I would assume the clear roof can come later. Or at least if I drop it can be purchased later.
The new Porsche Cayman S is a fantastic sportscar, but when I priced one with the performance goodies (PDK, Adjustable Suspension, etc), even with zero luxury or convenience options, it came out on the scary side of $75+K.
Just priced out a 2015 Z51 1LT with A8 and Mag shocks. $58K with Supplier discount.
Although the build quality on the Porsche is impeccable, the C7 interior is light years ahead of the C5-6, and the C7 seats are sourced from the same supplier Porsche uses.
I wouldn't blame anybody for springing for the Cayman, but for almost $20K less, It's awful hard to beat the C7 performance bang for the buck, and the styling is killer.
I need another sportscar like I need a skin rash, but now that the 2015s are rolling off the line, I'm putting my order in.

As I mentioned in post number 6, no orders with dual roofs are being picked up. Having that option on your order will hold things up.
