In the DIC, the page that shows the "Speed Limit" of the road you are on, I am curious how that works. Does it link up with OnStar to get to some database of Speed Limits based on your GPS location, or does it go through your phone?
This is a pretty cool feature and I hope in the future, GM might incorporate this with your current Speed, and give some visual indicator that you are exceeding the Speed Limit; maybe a color ring flashing around your current speed that would give you an alert? Just some thoughts for expanding on a pretty cool feature of the Stingray dash control DIC.

There is a database in the navigation/infotainment system that contains the speed limits.
There is also a Speed warning that you can set on the IP all though it isn't tied to the speed limit, you can set a pre-determined speed on the IP to cause an alert.

I certainly don't want a flashing color ring around my speed indicator if over the limit, darn thing would never go away. The GPS database would need weekly updates just to keep the speed limits up to date, they are always changing. As for speed sentinel, as it was called. I didn't think much of the speed limit reminder yesteryear, and today it is just as useless.

Kind of figured that the GM Nav system was like say a Garmin system in that it shows speed limits for the road you are on.
Did not know that the C7 had a feature for setting a speed reminder through the IP.
