It's personal choice of course, but I think the chrome looks way better. Silver would be my next choice. To me, black wheels look like they belong on a lifted 4 wheel drive pick-up, not a sports car. Everyone has there own opinions. Bottom line, go with what you like, not what we like.
I had the same choices to make when ordering my car and finally went with the silver painted. I do wish that comp gray or polished were an option as either of those would have been my first choice. I may still opt for some aftermarket in another year. I have noticed the silver painted have acquired quite a few chips in 3,000 miles and that's driving only on paved roads...the black seem to fare even worse from this standpoint.
If it were my decision I would select the painted silver wheels. I think the painted silver looks very good on a Torch Red Vette. Plus I would not pay $2,000 extra for chrome.

Trying to decide on chrome or the silver paint drove me crazy before I ordered. Finally went with the chrome even though the 2 grand option is ridiculous. Glad I did and the chrome on black really pops and after hearing about the durability of some of the painted wheels, the hardness of the chrome is a plus. I don't have a mark on mine yet after 1k miles. ( I don't drive mine in the crap so pitting etc is not a worry).

Silver painted wheels still perfect on my Torch Red Z51 vert after 11,250 miles.
Didn't see anyone offer this, Black Chrome. Looks really cool and would give you the best of both choices. Looks very classy, I think and won't be seen on every other Corvette.
Ordered my Torch Red with black wheels. After 3 months, I realized black wheels were not for me, so I sold them on this forum and purchased silver painted wheels from a fellow forum member. I'm very happy with the result and I do prefer the silver painted wheels to the chrome.
much more mature looking.. good move.. i feel like the black wheels are for 20 something year olds. too "toy" looking.

Try this if you like to manage your money wisely, I know some here don't give a rat's *** about $$$, but I believe we don't get to drive cars like these without being somewhat thrifty in our lives. Get the silver for starters and best financial impact. $2000 cost avoidance for chrome can go along way toward some bad-*** aftermarket wheels that will set your car off from the maddening crowd of look-a-likes. And, you can get into additional color choices at the same time. Finally, black is beginning to wain, sort of like chrome did a while back. You can consider the gunmetal grays that are a bit darker than the factory silver....they will set you apart from the pack. Sell off your stock silvers for additional cash.
