The Z51 package has been on constraint almost every week since C7 production started in fall, 2013. Lately, and for the current cycle, it is constrained at 50%. This means, at most, only half of the Stingrays ordered this cycle can have the package. If your dealer only gets one allocation this cycle, it's a coin flip on whether he can order a Z51 equipped car or not.

As for how long, the constraint report states it is expected to last the entire model year.

Is it true that Z51, as of the first week of September, is on 100% constraint until sometime in October?

No, that is absolutely not true. The 9/3 constraint report has Z51 at 50% where it has been for quite a while. 100% would mean it is NOT constrained. 0% would mean it is not available at all. Where did you hear this?

I have to say, ordering a C7.R package the first week of August and being told it will not be built unti Nov 9, is outrageous; 3.5 to 4 mos. to schedule and build a ZO6. I thought production was better then that.

C7.R (RPO ZCR) was listed as "Late Availability" until the 9/14/2015 Order Guide update. Your "outrageous" schedule time was really quite predictable.

I do see it as "outrageous" of course from my point of view, since I have to wait while lots of ZO6's with ZO7 packages roll off the line within 30 to 45 days of order release. Not sure why C7.R cosmetic package should be delayed as it has IMO. It helps to let out a little steam.

Sorry for the newbie question, but I am thinking of doing a custom order with Museum delivery, and see the Z51 is 50% constrained. From what I understand, my dealer would need to have an open allocation for a Z51 for my order to get accepted?

How long of a wait is currently anticipated for an order to be accepted and delivered?

Sorry again.....as I am sure this has been asked a million times and I will be flamed for asking

It all depends on how many allocations your dealer has, the more he has the better chance of the order being accepted.

Good luck!

I waited 4 months and tried different dealers. Allocation first, then waiting on Cherolet to release Z51 builds.. I found one that was very close to my wants. I just got it a couple weeks ago... I AM SO HAPPY I DID NOT WAIT ANY LONGER..

2016 Corvette Stingray Z51 3LT Shark Gray ,exposed carbon & smoke clear tops, full camera, magnetic ride. I could go on -- Love it.....

Yeah, there are many close to what I want. Impossible to get everything I want off the lot. Just thought it would be cool experience to do the museum delivery. I am not that patient.....so I don't think I will go down this route. Thanks for the info.
