Default Visibility?

How is the visibility out of th C7? Do you have big blind spots? How does it compare to the C5/C6? I have a convertible C5, rear visibility isn't great with the top up. I sat in a C6 coupe once, it was good.

In contrast, a 2013 Camaro was terrible. It felt very cramped, poor visibility, huge blind spots.

There's a reason they put in a back up camera. I feel changing lanes has many "blind" spots and I'm catching myself leaning forward to look back more in this car than the C6

I agree. Backing up would be a total crap shoot if we did not have the camera.

I was wondering the same thing.

Also wonder about front visibility out over those healthy fenders

On the front end, I feel like I end up closer to curbs than my C6. Time for a Curb Alert b4 I scrape!

What visibility?? You have to re-train yourself if you have a rear spoiler...

If you have a coupe, just understand visibility past the immediate side is non-existent to really bad. Using the side mirrors pointed way out past the view of your car is necessary. The drivers rear view through the back glass is just to see if whoever is following is able to keep up LOL.

Backing up requires the camera. Other than that it's a retraining process and understanding how to cope with using the side mirrors. It can be done. If you understand that going in it shouldn't be an issue other than training your self to accept what is and deal with it.

on all points.

tis one of the fw things I don't like about my c7. Obviously, no issue with that i my c5

otoh, does force you to be more aware of what traffic around you is doing...fine tuning mirror position, and gives you an excuse to goose it a bit to make sure te blind spot is clear

Wondered that the first time I sat in a C7, now that I have one, it’s absolutely not an issue.

What I was concerned about was visibility to the rear when driving and changing lanes. Learning proper mirror positioning has also made that a non issue. Using the mirrors I can change lanes with confidence although habit still prompts me to check by turning my head when traffic is light. Don

As already stated, visibility is a non-issue. There are no blind spots when the mirrors are correctly positioned, and the backup camera is quite adequate for backing up.

The only problem comes when you have big assed pickups hemming you in on both sides. Don

Visibility is not an issue with proper seat and mirror adjustments. Look at the boats people used to drive around in the 70's. We never needed back up cameras. People are just relying on electronics a bit too much!

Makes all the difference in the world once you get used to it. It's the way we all should have been setting our mirrors all along.

With the top down rear visibility is good, top up the rear window is smaller than other convertibles I have owned. No problem backing, side mirrors are large and power assist will place the view where ever you want. Backup camera is ok but I don't totally trust what I'm looking at, yet. Good visibility front and to the side.

IMO, 2 safety features GM should add to the C7... audible F&R proximity sensors and blind-spot monitoring.

Visibility is not as good as the C6, but much better than the 2010 Camaro I once owned. Above illustration about setting mirrors to a "wide" view is very good!! You don't need to see the rear fenders of your car in the side mirrors. They follow you where ever you go.

Ya now replace that red car with a motorcycle.. It's a blind spot, because those sneaky bastards are everywhere.

Totally agree! I would also including cross-traffic monitor... Miss this, had on my previous car. I think there is less visibility in the C7 for sure. Especially if Im pulling out of my driveway and looking over my shoulder, the small little window doesnt cut it for me. I use all my mirrors and capability as well as camera. I do know adding the sensors are visual issues on the car that people dont like
