Absolutely NOT! If that's all you can afford be rightly proud of your high performing, beautiful C7. The point I make on these type of threads is if you can afford it get the best that Corvette has to offer. But otherwise, a 1LT non-Z51 gets you 90% of the performance for 80% of the price. Not a bad deal and certainly nothing, nothing to be ashamed of.

You will LOVE this car!

He was being facetious. He knows he's going to love the car. And it gets him a lot more than 90% of the performance of a Z51.

Yea till the moron you're racing wipes out and you go from driving your vette to being in Jail for vehicular manslaughter. Now you're bubbas GF and your life is over. Id just look for legal roll racing events. They have them. I'm being kind of hypocritical though because I did all that stupid stuff when I was younger (im 33 now) but just looking out for ya.

Why do people think you have what you bought because "that's all you can afford?" Or if you don't want the higher model that it's because "you can't afford it."

Think before posting that, guys! It's all too often a bad assumption.

Yeah, I agree. Take it to the track, OP, whatever you buy.

Has anyone had a chance to directly compare the M7 to the A8 transmission as far as handling and steering feel? Asked about it in another post but there's never any mention of it being any different, so does that mean the weight and distribution is identical for both?

Most discussions about it seem to boil down to driver involvement/fun vs. convenience in stop n go traffic and consistency, and maybe reliability and maintenance concerns..

I not to sure on the different models. And what is added with each model and such. I'm new to the corvette sceen. And want to get ready for some mods later on down the road. Will roll race the car and cruise around. Won't go to any road courses and may go to the track ever once a while.

Visit with a dealer, they can go through all of the different trim levels and tell you what is included so that you can make an informed decision.

After you get your stingray add an ECS, ARH, CAM, METH. Then go out and look for your roll racing. That car will sound nasty as hell and take off like a rocket. You will definitely need better tires to grab the pavement. Enjoy it my friend

IMHO Z51 w/FE4 and at least 2LT is a must. If you can afford it, 3LT even with a black interior. The feel, look and smell is great!

Buy that you can afford, if you can afford to go all out, then do it! You only live once.
I love mine

racers go to extremes to reduce the weight of the car, a 1lt is a good bit lighter than a 2lt or 3lt. with this thought in mind get a 1lt and use the money you save for slicks and any other mods you want.

IMO though the car is still 60k, even in base forum. So if you can afford a 60k car you must be doing ok. AND i don't see why you couldn't drop another 5 grand for some truly great packages. or add like 50 bucks a month to your payments. If that is a lot more money a month, i question why you are even in a corvette.

now if someone WANTS the base model with no options thats a different story. but saying they cant get the a Z51 package, or upgrade to a 2lt because they cant afford it. to me is a bad point to make. again because this is a 60k car.

but then again, i have never bought a car that i couldn't easily afford. people seem to buy cars that cant afford.
