Default Engine temp 220

I was told by the dealer service department that my engine temp of 220 is right on. I have a '14 auto and my buddy has a '15 auto. He says his engine temp is 195. Anyone have an idea why the difference?

Ideas, anyone?

220 is within specs. No two cars will operate at the same temp.
Mine runs between 202 - 208.

Just realize that the analog gauge on the dash is just a glorified idiot light. It goes to the middle of the gauge if everything is alright, and can be off 20 degrees.
If you want the real temperature, you have to go to the Touring mode and look at the digital temperature readout.

If the red temp. light doesn't illuminate, don't worry about it.

By the way, I just typed "C7 engine temp" in the search menu and got allot of stuff not even close to what I was looking for.

My 2014 std. couple ran 220 on the gauge and in the Touring mode digital readout. My 2015, also a standard couple, runs 195 in both the analog and the Touring mode.

You have good synthetic oil in there; those temps are nothing to it. Moisture and contaminants will boil out more easily.
