Therefore it's predictable a single failure will be dramatized.

many A8 owners are happy. Many A6 owners had issues with overheating. Things happen. To say A8 is new and untested is a stretch. I am sure GM have been testing the A8 for a while now. Things happens. Let's not make a big deal of it.

To be fair, the only overheating issues of which I am aware are related to trying to track the A6. Other than that it has been solid.

Best of luck getting your car back on the road. Hopefully GM will fix it right and you won't have any more problems.

why not respond with something helpful to the OP; or not at all?

I'm sure mentioning what you did - helped your ego a little bit; but why do that at the expense of others who are in a bad situation at the moment

Some sort of hybrid Chevy with 4 doors. Definitely not a C7.

I love my C7 with an A6. Having said that I would have no problem ordering my next Corvette with an A8. Thousands of cars with thousands of parts in each car. Stuff happens the important thing isGM makes it right when we have problems.

If you keep repeating this crap in your head, then sooner or later it won't seem so bad to you that you still have a C6.

As for the rest of us... you're not fooling anyone.

Not surprising.
Because almost no C7 owners would be in the C7 sections making such ignorant comments about the C7.
Does that make sense to you?

If only the C6 owner hadn't made the silly comment in the first place, then....

No expert, just a guess but it sounds like it could have gone/been low on trans fluid for some reason.

How about the obligatory...if it was a manual transmission it wouldn't have gone straight into reverse....

I had my passenger window spontaneously shatter 23 miles into my new ownership experience. Kind of deflated my high at the time, but then I got the car on the track and the smiles returned. Sucks, but once you put it in the past, you'll love the car.

Got it back today and all seems well. All in all, pretty quick turn around for such a major repair. Helped that GM overnighted the new tranny and the dealership got on it right away.

Kinda nice getting a new car twice in a week.

I'm not sure what it is about A8 trannys, but my 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 has twice shifted into neutral by itself while stopped waiting at a traffic light, while the shifter stays in Drive. Weird!
