Anyone install the wiring in a 2016 coupe? Is it the same as the 15' or 14'?

Wow! What a pain in the butt. Got the cap off, separated the wiring from the cap...now the fun begins. Got the Red one in pin 2 purple and that took a bit but it finally went in. The Black ground i spent 1hour and can't get the little bastard in. Tried a jeweler's driver but still no luck. Totally sucks. Will give it one more try tomorrow.
So beware, your setup might be easy like what's been posted above or you might get one like mine, a total sob. Roll of the dice.

I could get the black wire in but absolutely could not tap the purple wire. I ended up breaking the tap pin so I just gave up.

If you have issues moving it with a jeweler's screwdriver one direction, try another. Mine moved one way much easier than another.

Took a 2nd shot at finishing this install and finally got the black wire slotted in. Tips of my fingers took a beating but the dam think is in. Another 5 to 10 minutes to get the cover back on...in never ends!!!
Checked the V1 again and it works fine.

So now, I think I've got everything all set. Take the V1 with the suction cups and mount it on the windshield (you KNOW where this is going) and the F'N wire doesn't reach the V1. I have to get a mirror V1 mount,

So, the 1st one I look at is over $100. You gotta be kidding me!!! So, then I found one company that's been around for ages and they have a mount for a little under $40.

Thank you for this thread!
Installed mine today, took my time. About an hour including adjusting the mount the way I wanted it.
Moved the purple & black wire with a small small screw driver as other have done.
Put some Slick 50 on the stab pins...no problem. Had to push little hard but nothing like some have posted.
Drilled a 3/16" hole out the back side of the harness cover for nice clean exit of the power wire.
Again thanks for this thread!

No GPS signal on mine, they sent me a longer arm/bracket but still no luck. Not sure where to go from here. Waiting to hear back from blend mount.

I'm using the standard Blendmount with my Escort 9500ix and have had no issues with GPS.

Broke my pins too, so removed 1/8" of sleeving from wire and wrapped detector lead wire and re taped. If Id done that to begin with could have been done in 10 minutes. Also of note, it does not power up unless car is started so if you test it by just going to accessory mode there is no power on the purple wire until car is started (at least in my 14 Z51).

I finally used a 4 wire telephone extension cord which I tucked away into the trim. Ran it down the passenger side A pillar and across under the dash. Connected to the power adapter with a double female connector. Now everything works great. On and off with the car and I can still use the smart cable mute function. All wiring is invisible and looks like professional install.

I am debating which kind of install to do and would love to see how yours looks if you ever have time to post a couple pix! Thanks,

Default Mirror tap for Blendmount on 2015 C7

My cable is already concealed but this will show you the route I took. I ran it across the top of the windshield under the trim panels, down the passenger A pillar, under the dash. I ran the coiled smart cord under the trim panel next to the passenger seat and connected it to the extension line under the dash. Used a wire tie to tie everything off and tucked away under the dash.

I just finished installing my Blendmount V1 today. I had an unsuccessful attempt last weekend due to a loose RJ11 connector on the Mirror Tap cable. Michael from Blendmount refunded me for the cable as I ordered another to get it here ASAP and get it in before going back to work Monday. The second Mirror Tap I got also had a loose connector so I had to add some pin striping tape to the sides of the connector to tighten it up and maintain power to the V1. The various V1 RJ11 connectors I have all fit snugly in my V1 so I don't know why the difference in the Mirror tap connectors.

Anyway, all's well that ends well. It's mounted and working properly. Looks great.

I'm using the standard Blendmount with my Escort 9500ix. I purchased a hard wired flat cable from Escort. This is the route I took. I ran it across the top of the windshield under the trim panels, down the passenger A pillar, along the door sill along the passenger side, under the carpet to the fuse box in the back of the car. I wired it to switched power so it turns off and on with the car. Couldn't be happier as all the wires are concealed.

Thanks. The one thing I like about this method over the mirror tap is I can still use the mute function on the smart cord which is plugged into the pop up power adapter. These are the only two items you need. Name: image-4293696350.jpg
