Default What Now?

So I will be picking up my new C7 corvette tomorrow (first vette) and now I don't know if I am anxious to go for a ride or having anxiety, like what the hell did I do! Everything from imagining how it will be to drive it home to the 100 things I could have done with the money have been going through my head. lol. Am I the only one who has felt this way when finally making the purchase?

That feeling will go away as soon as you get behind the wheel.

Although I don't have one right now, I've owned 7 of them in the past. Remember it isn't a half million dollar car museum piece that will lose a bunch of value if driven. Just get in it and enjoy it. Shoot guys have paid more for pickup trucks than you will have tied up in the Corvette.

I understand what you’re saying, I think it’s a somewhat normal reaction to a new, expensive (by most people’s standards) and desirable car.

Just be careful and go out and enjoy it. Visibility isn’t like many larger, higher riding vehicles just watch for the idiots.

My big worry was visibility to the rear, that was solved by the proper adjustment of the mirrors, something I fortunately learned from this forum. That worry is gone.

I would say there is one legitimate worry. If you nail the brakes in traffic, expect to be rear ended unless the person following you has a lot of room. Look at road test summaries, the C7 has braking distances with the very best cars on the road. Don

Try to get some sleep tonight because tomorrow night you will have a hard time falling asleep!! Been there, done that!
Take your time learning all the new gadgets. The owner's manual and videos on this forum and Chevy's website will be very helpful.
Have fun, be safe and if your Mom is still alive, take her for a ride!!

Open the door, sit in the seat, push the start button and all your worries will disappear. Congrats on getting your first Vette.

Once you realize how much better it is than your C6 you will think why didn't I do this earlier.

I test drove and came close to buying a new Vette in '77, again in '81, and again in '94, but each time I talked myself out of it. I finally decided to bite the bullet two weeks ago. Looking back my only regrets are not buying one in '77 AND in '81 AND in '94! But my 2015 Shark was sure worth the wait. Every time I look at it I get a big smile on my face.

Relax and enjoy!

Cancel your order, save the money, AND REGRET IT FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE.

Pick that car up and enjoy the heck out of it. It's only money and you're not going around the block twice!

I justify my purchase by calling it an "investment in my happiness". Money comes and goes but the experience of owning your very own Corvette is so far one of my best experiences in life. I get giddy just walking to my car now knowing that it's mine.
