Since you stated:
"There are miles driven for test drive, but it has very low miles."
Being a Vette, & not a Prius, Those are probably very hard test drive miles.
I myself, wouldn't touch it...
Go for a 2015!!!
If the car can't hold up to a few "hard test drive miles", I wouldn't want it anyway!
For what it's worth, I test drove a c7, and certainly didn't do anything to mess it up.
To the OP, though, I certainly would not pay full sticker amount for a 2014. That makes no sense at all!
Sure but I doubt they will get it. I looked at a lot of So Cal dealers and none of them would budge from their mark up over MSRP. They still are setting on some of the 14's I looked at in April. Since then I ordered a 15 from a forum dealer with the Credit Union discount and had it courtesy delivered to LA.
You can always try to offer them a low price since as you mentioned it is getting near the end of the year. I would suggest checking with the big forum dealers. You can often find some great deals there.
I bought my 2015 C7 here close to me in SoCal at Supplier, MSRP 59,910 paid just under 53,000 plus $80.00 Doc, DMV and tax. Built 09-15-14 delivered by flatbed from dealer to my home 10-28-14. Glad I did not have to order OS.
I've never seen that combination before, very sharp. If it's a 2014, I'd recommend making them an offer $15k under MSRP and negotiate from there. (In my mind, having the manual transmission is a plus!)
My dealer showed me a 2015 Z51 that when they ordered it they forgot to check the box to add the Magnetic Ride Control option. I would imagine that particular C7 won't be selling as quickly as fully equipped Z51's. If you decide to make an offer check the window sticker carefully against GM's full option list and make sure it really does have everything.
Special ordered New C7 Vert, fully loaded, except order INCORRECTLY with wrong type of transmission. So it's sitting on the dealer's lot. It's been there for 8-9 months. Other buyers have looked, but no takers yet.
There are miles driven for test drive, but it has very low miles.
Dealer still wants top dollar, but end of year is rapidly approaching.
What should the price be? Should they be willing to make a deal?
Thoughts?
You need to find a dealer that wants to sell a car. There are no shortages of Corvettes. I was able to order my 2015 Z51 vert from factory and negotiate a very competitive price from my local dealer. Remember, the dealer makes 3% of the MSRP even if he sells the car at invoice price. Last time I looked, Kerbecks was discounting 2015's $5-6,000 below MSRP, and they have plenty of inventory. If local dealer won't match that, I'd buy from Kerbecks. The car at the dealers should be sold at least $10-12,000 below MSRP if it is a 2014. And the new 8 speed automatic is a much better tranny.
